It’s the final week of our fabulous Summer Transformation and we want you to bring your A GAME!

What do you need to reset to cross the end of the Summer Transformation finish line strong?

At this stage in a challenge, it’s common to think, ‘Oh, it’s the last challenge and it’s summer. I will just start in September again’. And we get it, we know how tempting it is to put things off until it’s a ‘better time’ or ‘more convenient’.

The thing is, and we say this with love, isn’t that what you’ve always done? Because we have. At New You HQ we have lost count of the number of times we were starting plan ‘on Monday’. For the last week of our Summer Transformation Challenge we want you to dig deep and really give it your all.  To really boost your weight loss, we have 5 fab ways to help you finish strong.

1. Recommit to your goal

Review your weight loss goals. How are you doing? Whether you are close to goal or starting from the beginning, you can recommit now. Think about your ‘why’. Why do you want to lose weight? Use our Magical New Me journal to write down your goals. It’s full of amazing tips to motivate you and keep you in a positive mindset.

2. Make your action steps effort driven, not outcome driven

Once you’ve identified your goal, determine action steps that are effort driven, not outcome driven. While your goal is a weight-loss goal, your action steps are all going to be things you can control. ‘Lose weight’ isn’t an action. ‘Stick to 4 packs and 4 litres of water’ is a great action. As is ‘walk an extra 1000 steps.’

Weight loss can be fickle. Even if you stick rigidly to plan there will be weeks when you don’t lose as much as you would like. However, when following the New You Plan TFR option you will lose on average 1 stone each month. We know some of our customers get so excited about their weight loss (finally something is working!) that they weigh every day. That’s fine if that’s how you roll but bear in mind that your weight will naturally fluctuate according to water intake, hormones and time of day.

3. Identify what you need to stop doing

How are you getting in your own way and preventing yourself from achieving this goal? What actions are you taking that are moving you away from your goal, or keeping you stalled? When you first start out you are very conscientious in your approach to staying on plan. You organise your packs, plan your water and your steps. You are consciously following the New You Plan and are learning to stick to it. When it becomes a habit, you fool yourself into thinking that you’ve got it covered and that you don’t need to concentrate so much going forward. You become less and less careful and many people don’t realise that other habits can creep in which might stall weight loss.

The New You Plan is a really simple diet to follow. Four packs (five if you are over 17 stone) and four litres of water. Occasionally little extras creep in. You might be adding some protein here and there. Or nibbling on food when you cook. Perhaps you have reduced your water intake. How many of our ketosis-friendly snacks are you eating? Remember not all snacks are created equal. For example, our amazing crisps can be consumed as a snack every day if you wish however our moreish wafers are limited to 2 or 3 a week. Take a look and see if there’s anything ‘extra’ in your plan that doesn’t need to be there.

4. Identify what you need to continue doing

What’s working now? Keep doing these things! It might be taking part in our Summer Transformation Challenge tasks that keeps you motivated. Perhaps it’s identifying your trigger times for ‘wanting something nice’ and making sure you have a pack ready for then. Does our private customer group Secret Slimmers keep you on track? Whatever is working…do more of that.

5. Don’t be afraid of success

Are you scared of actually being successful? It might sound odd, but sometimes we won’t let ourselves be successful. Sometimes it’s because we can’t really think of ourselves as being successful and it feels uncomfortable. Do you worry that if you achieve a goal you might be expected to do more in future? Perhaps you fear that the bar will be raised, and you won’t measure up. Maybe you fear that you won’t know how to deal with compliments or accolades. You will allow yourself a little success, but you won’t let yourself be too successful. If this resonates even slightly with you, this is the time to take action.

You are working hard for this success. You deserve this success. Believe it and welcome it.

What action will you take today to finish just as strong as you started?

You will never regret choosing to work hard and climb to the top of that hill, no matter how challenging it may be or how much resistance is trying to hold you back. But you will regret giving up early, putting it off, and simply coasting to the finish line.
