Now you know that you can start working on your confidence by cultivating a growth mindset, you can really examine what it is that you want and what areas of your mindset need particular attention.

This week, it is Pascale’s mission to help you become clearer about the areas of your life you want to increase your self-confidence in, and help you discover how you can reach your goal.

To start with, you need to abandon the idea of perfection. It’s unrealistic and unattainable because it’s a subjective concept. You’re not going to achieve perfect confidence and then just keep it. It’s something that needs work to develop, grow and maintain – it will never be ‘perfect’.

Developing confidence has multiple life benefits.

Research has shown that those with high self-confidence enjoy better overall health because they deal better with stress and difficult emotions. They have more time and better relationships as they tend to set healthy boundaries and have the ability to focus on improving relationships.

With that in mind, we suggest you download Pascale’s workbook and get building that confidence.

You can use your workbook to :

  • Identify areas of low confidence by listing things you feel you lack confidence in.
  • Be specific about what your lack of confidence looks like.
  • Decide what it would look like in each area if you were confident.
  • Think about someone you know who is confident in this area. How do they act and what do they say?

  • What knowledge do you need to develop competence in this area and how can you get it?
  • What specific steps can you take to start the process of gaining that knowledge?

While you are working on your self-confidence, it’s important to understand and remember what confidence feels like. Ask yourself:

  • In what situation have I experienced confidence, a feeling of satisfaction and self-worth?
  • What do you say to yourself about the situation (self-talk)?
  •  How do you feel physically? What sensations and feelings do you have in your body?
  • What do you do as a result of this? What is the situation?

From answering these questions you can follow the same process for a time when you had a lack of confidence. And with both sets of questions and answers, you can make a plan for how you would react differently to each unconfident situation using what you have learnt from times when you were confident.

This is just a brief overview of what Pascale will cover in week 2 of self-confidence. So for more in-depth coaching in increasing your confidence, you can find Pascale every Sunday at 5 pm over on the Secret Slimmer’s Facebook group or watch previous sessions in the ‘Guide’ section. Don’t forget to download your workbook, it’s an invaluable resource and something you can revisit time and time again.

Also, if you’re able to catch Pascale live, you could win £25 New You credit!
