Don’t Sweat It! This is Why you should Start Your Summer Slimdown

Warning we talk about sweat!

Summer in the UK has been all or nothing in recent years. We go from freezing cold to boiling hot in a matter of days. This may be an exaggeration, but that’s how it feels. Are we right?!

The point we’re trying to make is that our summer heat is never a gradual process, so we don’t have time to get used to it. And when it does hit, if you’re overweight, the heat can be particularly uncomfortable.

You know what we’re talking about? Sweat. Sweat and all of the associated side effects that come with it.

You’ve heard the slang, right?

  • Chub rub (thighs rubbing together).
  • Swoobs (sweaty boobs).
  • Swalls (sweaty testicles).

And then you also get sweat stains on your clothes, wet patches under your arms, on your back and even on your bum when you’ve been sitting down for a while.

Unfortunately, when you’re overweight, you sweat more, especially in the summer. Excess body fat acts as insulation which raises your core temperature causing you to sweat. Coupled with the heat from the sun in summer, your body creates even more sweat in a bid to cool you down.

Sweating is natural, but when it’s excessive, it can be embarrassing, to say the least. And when you feel like this, you tend to avoid doing anything that may cause you to sweat and this includes activities that you enjoy. 

Avoidance can progress into isolation which can create a negative spiral surrounding how you feel about yourself. 

So why are we going on about yucky sweat?

Well, we want you to feel confident and positive when out in the sun. Don’t let the thought of sweating ruin your summer and any plans that you may have. You deserve to have fun in the sun, just like everyone else.

You see, slimming down for the summer has its advantages. The slimmer you are, the less you sweat and the less you suffer from its side effects! 

Less sweat equals more fun!
