2. Early to bed, early to rise!

Now we all know that life can easily get in the way and the ‘early to bed’ goal can sometimes become a distant memory. Try and break this habit and make your bedtime another ‘must do’ for the day. Sleep is so important for our body to make sense of the day’s thoughts and activities and allows our body to repair itself in preparation for the next day.

We should all aim for at least 8 hours a night to ensure our bodies get the rest they need. The saying ‘Early to bed, early to rise, makes you healthy, wealthy & wise’ is a great concept to adapt to your life. By allowing yourself those solid 8 hours at a reasonable time you are setting yourself up to have a great day full of new opportunities without feeling drained or lethargic.

3. Tech free bedroom

With today’s busy lifestyles it can be hard to ‘switch off’ when it comes to bedtime. We are a nation that are permanently stuck on our mobile phones or tablets, forever seeking to find some new bit of information to feed our interests. As much as it is a good thing to expand our knowledge it is impacting on our sleep pattern. As many of us do, when it is time to get into bed our phone isn’t far behind us. Studies have shown that even using your mobile phone 2 hours before bed can be affecting your sleep (Source – study by the Lighting Research Centre), and a bad night’s sleep means a morning routine with no structure. The lights used on electronic devices sends our body into a state of confusion, making it think it is day time instead of slowing down the body preparing it for sleep.

By taking technology out of the equation and replacing it with light music or a good book you are allowing your body to go into wind down mode and reach a natural sense of calmness, encouraging a good night’s sleep. By making this little change you are sure to get your solid 8 hours of sleep and not jeopardise your morning routine.

4. Plan ahead

Creating a plan is the answer to so many of life’s problems and it works for a good morning routine as well. There are so many things that won’t change from morning to morning; a new outfit for the day ahead, that first cup of coffee to wake you up etc. These staple activities are what get you through the morning and ready for the day ahead but some of these things can be pre-planned to take away the stress in the morning.

See what the weather forecast is saying and set out an appropriate outfit the night before so you don’t have to be searching for a matching shoe or clean shirt when your alarm goes off. If coffee is a MUST in the morning have your favourite cup, waiting beside the kettle ready to go.

If you are currently on plan then pick your meals and snacks the night before so you already know exactly what you are going to have throughout the day. Don’t forget your morning Pineapple Fat Burner to get you feeling energised and on track. It is these little time savers than will really impact on your mood in the morning. By making your morning a calmer experience you will continue your day with a fresh mindset.

5. Get up, get active!

If you are an early riser then why not make use of the free time before you have to head to work? By adding exercise to your morning routine you are fully waking yourself up and increasing your brain activity to help your focus when you get to the office.

Exercise is not only good for your physical fitness but it is also a great way to de-stress. If you have a big meeting or hectic day ahead, a morning workout is a great way to set yourself up for a productive day. By welcoming exercise into your morning routine you are freeing up your time in the evenings for other more enjoyable activities.
