[INTERVIEW] Anne drops 6 stone and gains a new lease on life

Anne’s achievements on The New You Plan | VLCD:

Image2Anne lost over 6 stone on The New You Plan  in just 6 months. This meant that she  dropped from a size 28/30 right down to an 18 which as you will tell from the interview has had life changing effects on Anne.

A really exciting figure here is that Anne lost 12.5 lbs in her first week and a further 6.5 lbs in her second week.  The end result was a 1.3 stone weight loss in her first two weeks. This type of safe and rapid weight loss is just one of the benefits of a VLCD plan such as our own.

 

The early days for Anne:

Image3Anne mentioned that it took her a little longer to get into ketosis and mentions that it was only really at the end of week two that she really had the awesome kick that this offers our customers.

The important thing to take from this if you are new to the plan or even if you are coming back from a break is to keep going and persevere. Pushing yourself at the start is worth the the rewards not only for the weight loss but also the fringe benefits. Having bundles of energy, being free from hunger and the overall feeling of well being!

Benefits Anne has seen so far on our VLCD:

Image1Since starting the plan, the weight that Anne has lost has meant that she has completely managed to come off her blood pressure medication. Anne mentions that she is physically more active and capable since dropping the 6 stone.

As a social person Anne found that her weight meant that she was dressing based on her dress size rather than her own personal preferences. However Anne noticed on her return to the UK that her winter coats no longer fitted and when she ordered a size 18 that was too big!

It sank in she had not been this slim for 20 years! Anne has since been able to change her style to suit her taste rather than her figure.

Anne’s advice to anyone starting out:

1)Take it one day and indeed one meal at a time – it is really important to pace yourself at the start of our plan to ensure that you make it through the initial stage and into ketosis. Keep your goals small and achievable at this point – the rest will happen soon enough!
2)Keep your water intake up. This is so important at the start of the diet as it really helps flush your system out and keep you from feeling hungry while you make your way into ketosis. A well hydrated body performs well too, so this is just a great habit to have in life!
3) Use the support that is on the Facebook Secret Slimmers group. Everyone in this group has either been through the diet or is going through the diet, collectively there is more knowledge here than you will ever need, however this also means there is always a solution to a problem and a sympathetic ear to listen.
4) Don’t beat yourself up when things go wrong just make sure you keep chasing your goals! Success in any diet or fitness regime depends on your willingness to keep trying. Every step you take forward brings you closer to your goal. There may be times your are stepping to the side or even backwards, but a concerted effort to keep moving forwards is always going to yield the results.

Anne’s day on our diet:

1) Big mug of Coffee & mint tea
2) Big sports bottle of water
3) Porridge – with cinnamon (breakfast) with another cup of mint tea
4) Broth mid morning to help curb any hunger – Anne also loves our blackcurrant drink warm
5) Then for lunch Anne would have a shake if she was home or a bar if she was out and about
6) At 3pm mint tea and half a wafer
7) Then for dinner Anne would have her dinner at 6pm which was a meal
8) Later in the evening Anne would have a shake or bar if she had not had one earlier plus a cup of mint tea or a hot flavoured drink. (As a treat Anne would have one of chocolate shakes warm with a spoonful of the orange water flavouring)

Anne’s day on refeed:

Anne like so many other people was worried about refeeding. She soon discovered that all the support that she needed was right here at The New You Plan. Anne used the refeed guide to get her through this stage in the diet and now has a few tips of her own to share.

Anne states that healthy eating after the plan can be fun and enjoyable:
Anne found that using a roasting bag with spices produced some really tasty healthy meals. There are more great tips in our Momentum Maintainers group exclusive to customers.
