7 Ways To Fight Off The Cold Without Knocking Yourself Out of Ketosis
I have got a sore throat, but I really am on a mission not to let it derail me.
1. How you start your day, does set the tone for the day.
This morning I got up early and completed my magical me journal.
I absolutely love filling this in. It really makes my heart feel full of gratitude and makes me feel emotionally connected to my goals.
It is a very positive way to the start day. If you can start the day off feeling good, then you are winning 🙂
2. The Best Way To Sooth Your Sore Throat & Fight Off the Cold
The first thing I do every morning is drink 500ml of cold water. This morning because I felt a cold coming on I had paracetamol too.

3. Gargle With Warm Salted Water To Cure A Sore Throat
I know that many people think this sounds disgusting and crazy, but it really does work! If you start sucking on lozengers then you will knock yourself out of ketosis, so gargling with warm salted water, taking painkillers, drinking water, and hot drinks like our pineapple boosts, will all help you to get better while keeping your body burning fat!

I also sneaked in a movie today, called ANNA – about this badass Russian hit woman! That was good fun, I loved it 🙂
5. Eat New You Comfort Foods & Spicy Foods
Today I enjoyed 2 portions of porridge throughout the day, as I find our new you packs to be pure comfort food. I also had my favourite coconut bar and for my tea I had New You Chicken Soup & added some Cumin Powder for extra spice.
Cumin is thought to help cure the cold. You can add cumin to any of our soups and meals. Along with other spices like Turmeric.
6. Hot Bath with Epson Salts & Olbas Bath
Tonight I had a lovely hot bath with olbas bath and epson salts.
Olbas bath is made of eucalyptus and really helps to clear your head. While soaking in Epsom salt can help body rest, recover, detoxify and increase white-blood cell count.
So having both is like a double whammy to beat the cold!
7. Have a relaxing sleep
I got into bed and remembered I hadn’t written my blog post today!!! DOH!! I had to go and get my laptop and write this ha ha 🙂 I am committed to writing a blog post every single day in 2020.
Sleep is essential for your body to rest and heal. Even though it won’t help you get rid of a cold, sleep allows your immune system to fight off infections.
I have my calm app playing the sound of rain on a window and I am super sleepy and know I will sleep well tonight. My friend also bought me this lovely Lavendar deep sleep pillow spray and it works an absolute treat!
I am hoping that tomorrow I wake up feeling better.
I am determined to stay focused on my goals.
