Tips for staying track this Christmas with The New You Plan

We Teamed up with the Lovely Pauline to find out how she managed to stay on track around the Christmas Period!

We asked her a few questions to see what she did to keep herself motivated and prepared for the festivities.

 

When did you start the plan in 2014?

I started back on the plan the 26th of October 2014.

 

How much weight did you lose in the run up to Christmas?

I lost 33lbs in the run up to Christmas, and because I knew I was taking a few days off I stuck to the plan 100% 4 packs and up to 5 or 6 litres of water per day, that may seem a lot but I do start at 6am every morning. I also used my snack allowance to keep myself on track they are great as a little extra in the evenings.

 

Did you come off the plan for Christmas?

I did come off plan for Christmas I decided to only take 4 days off as I really wanted to carry on getting to goal. The plan allows breaks for special occasions as life goes on it doesn’t have to stop just because you are on plan enjoy life and then back to total food replacement after your celebrations are over.

 

Were you worried about coming off plan for Christmas?

I wasn’t worried at all about coming off as I knew I had the power within myself to cope with the celebrations without ruining my hard work up to that point. I had learned while on plan that I can actually enjoy smaller meals and feel really satisfied, it was time to put the theory to the test, and what better test than Christmas when there are so many nice things around. I had worked hard all year and wanted to enjoy the time off, while still remaining on track.

 

How did you do, did you use the New You re-feed guide and maintain?

I did great to be honest I felt totally in control I used the re-feed guide as a reference point it is an excellent tool to have on hand, I had my new you shake everyday for breakfast, a bar or meal for lunch and a small dinner of protein and vegetables in the evening.

 

Did you enjoy your Christmas dinner, a few drinks and what did you have?

I did enjoy my dinner as I knew I had worked hard up to that point and I was going to enjoy my time off TFR. I had the usual turkey, ham, lots of roast vegetables, small amount of stuffing, gravy and a couple of roast potatoes, I really enjoyed the portion I allowed myself unlike other years when I would eat until I was stuffed, New You has taught me I can survive on and enjoy less food. I don’t really drink as such but I did however have a glass of wine and sprite a little spritzer if you like to enjoy with my meal, for desert I had a small portion of my homemade trifle with fresh cream it was enough to finish off the meal. Later that evening I did have some nibbles with my kids watching movies it was Christmas after all.

 

Did you gain any weight over Christmas?

I didn’t actually gain any weight over the Christmas period I in fact lost 2lbs which was a nice surprise when I weighed in after the week was over, I put it down to the fact that I still had my new you products for meal times and I also kept up my water intake and walked my dog twice a day for the full week, I knew I was being careful and I still had a great time and too lose weight was also a nice bonus, you can maintain or minimize the damage you may do by making wise choices while still having fun.

 

How did you feel when you went back on plan after Christmas?

I felt fantastic I really missed my New You food, the feeling of control is what make me stick to the plan, the support from the Team, the wonderful slimmers is second to none, it really is a wonderful plan and I love the fact that I can come off plan for a big celebration like Christmas and enjoy it without going mad. New You has taught me so much about myself that I never knew existed I can remain in control of what I put into my body.
