Today’s blog is all about focusing on what is going right. This is something that sounds so simple and when you get to the core of it, it actually really is. At this stage if you are doing this plan you have got it into your head that something is wrong and you are trying to correct the imbalance, an imbalance that is so strong it has pushed you to seek help.

When things seem so out of control the negative steps in and takes control and it means that something as simple as ‘Focus on what is right’ becomes in itself a tedious exercise of going through the motions. If you have agreed with this in any way then this should be your tipping point for getting back on track and reclaiming your ‘Mojo’.

I am going to give you the starting point of your focus on what is going right. The fact that you are reading this and taking action is something that is going right – your first victory! From now on keep your thinking of life as simple as you can to give you the clearest path to victory.

Know these facts to be true:

1)      A diet that ensures a calorie deficit like our VLCD is going to result in weight loss if you are a healthy individual!
2)      Exercise will help you tone and get fit- a by-product of this is improved confidence.
3)      Every person that has successfully lost weight found it hard at some point – what made them successful was the fact that their goals carried more emotional value than the food they consumed.
4)      Only you can change the overall direction of your life – we can give you the tools and the support  but you hold ALL THE POWER!  I challenge you to say that in your own mind and tell me that it is not true.

These facts are again things that you can use to create a positive focus. There is nothing like knowing you are the right road, with a real opportunity for change and you hold all the power – all it is going to take is for you to want it! How awesome is that?

Do you really want to be happy? – this goes hand in hand with focusing on what is going right!

This may sound like a strange question – the obvious answer is “yes I want to be happy!”  Then one of the things that also needs to shift at this point is the perception that any one event or action will secure this state of mind. Hitting your goal weight will certainly help elevate your confidence and happiness and at this point your focus will shift to the next challenge in your life.

My point here is you need to enjoy the process of achieving your goals! Celebrate every time you drop a jean size, nurture the friendships you make in Secret Slimmers and pride in your before and after photos.  Knowing that what you are doing is making you happy and working towards you goals will give you more to focus on!

List 5 things that make you happy at this very moment in time and you will indeed find your focus on what is going right and this in turn will help you to perpetuate further positivity and help to regain your focus on that which is going right!

 Finally:

Take action! You have figured out what is going to take to pull you through, you already know what it is that you are getting right – now pick one thing, don’t worry it does not have to be big – something like your daily water allowance and make it your focus. I can promise you that if you actively set yourself a small but worthwhile goal and achieve it, tick it off your list, – then it will make you feel great.
