Surround yourself with supportive friends and family! Arrange activities that get you out and moving and don’t centre around food, family bike ride or walk, try something new with a friend like ice skating or rock climbing, or just chill at the cinema and take a bar and some water.

Instead of going out for lunch as a family (has been out weekend routine for years!) we now go out for a walk or go swimming. Also asking them to support you is a great idea, my children are wonderful about not offering me food and are really encouraging if a feel hungry or tempted x

Treat yourself NY style at the weekend like you normally would off plan…so make brunch. A big production where you enjoy omelette and Pancake feast or pancakes with sublime chocolate mousse on the side. Or what about savouring a whole wafer indulgence with your favourite hot beverage?

Luxury and indulgence is what the weekend is all about. You won’t miss anything if you save your favourite foods for the weekend and the best thing about the New You Plan is that you can have your favourites every day of the week if you want…and still lose weight! So go on…wind the weekend up big time with NY!! What have you got to lose? Just that excess weight! Have a good day.β™‘

Plan ahead. Get out of the house with the family or on own e.g. for a long hike or cycle. Bring a picnic… NY dinners, boiling water and a food thermos flask ….. great for picnic meal. The only limitation is your mind

My kids have so much going on at the weekend I find it the most challenging time. The working week provides me with structure & easy distractions so I’ve found I have to treat the weekend the same. To do this I write a to do list which I keep in the kitchen. This includes my water intake and packs. If I know what my weekend looks like in advance I find it must easier to keep focused. I also allow myself treats at the weekend, one on Saturday night and one on Sunday night. I drink from my favourite glass & have special fine bone china cups for my hot drinks. I carry my water bottle everywhere and have a 6l water tank in the fridge to top up from.

This weekend is mothers day – special event usually means a blow out. But, not this weekend. I’ve made it clear to everyone in advance (my mother, my husband and kids) that there will be no food involved in our mothers day treats. We will be focusing on special family time (my mother lives in Spain so it’s extra special that she is here this year).

We have a games day planned with all my family. Whatever the weather we are planning 3 legged races, egg & spoon races, blind mans buff, wheel barrow races. We’ve gone back to our childhood and we are all really excited about it – it’s going to be great fun. We’ll do them inside if its raining.

Good luck for the weekend guys. Keep strong, stay focused & remember your why which will make your wow! x

Weekends are definitely harder for me as the kids are around my feet wanting feeding, entertaining and just generally getting me stressed. I have found the best way of coping is to get out and about with them exploring, walking, swimming etc as this not only burns off energy and a few hours it also actually makes me feel good. I love nature and this time of year is the best as it’s brighter and spring flowers are popping up everywhere which makes me feel more energetic and happy. I find myself doing strange jobs around the house to keep my mind off food and drink. I also like coloring in my book I had for Xmas, got back into reading and just allowing myself some special me time even if it’s just a shower with a facemask or a quick nail file and polish. If things get close to the edge I cwtch in bed and look back at my photos on my phone and see how far I’ve come and also look at all the events on my calendar and think nothing is gonna taste as good as I will feel this summer and so far it works. I’ve been on the plan for 8 weeks and 2 days with no blips or meltdowns. We can do this, stay strong and if you’re getting down rant on the SS page, we will all be around to lift you up again xx

I learnt a long time ago that you plan to succeed not fail to plan!!! So come the weekend my packs are lined up on my kitchen surface, the savoury broth is out and I have bottles of water stored in the fridge. Then I go out walking the dog with the kiddies, shopping, games….
As long as there is a plan in place then you have less time to think about food/hunger etc….

This week I have upped my daily step target to 10,000 so I will make sure I do that on Saturday and Sunday too. I’m out for a leaving lunch on Sunday but I will take a bar and a wafer with me as a special treat to myself. This week I also worked through the 30-60-90 booklet and have come up with a new motto which I have written on card and placed strategically around the house, in the car and in my purse. I will read it 4 times a day this weekend to keep my mind focused and clear on my promise to myself: I will love myself, I will set myself free, I will be true to me! Have a great weekend everyone, keep strong x

Go for a long walk and don’t think that you are depriving yourself but that you have made a choice to live a healthier lifestyle and are doing something for you!x
