What is Junk food?
Have you ever tried to cut back your junk food and then you realised it was maybe easier said than done?
We get cravings, everyone gets cravings some more than others but it still happens, basically it is your brain calling these certain foods that will supposedly make you feel *happier*
We know they bad for us but something just keeps calling for these foods!
Cravings can appear out of thin air, or they can be caused by something that has been going on in you life!
A lot of people when they have had a bad day, dont feel well, or they are feeling sorry for themselves … eat – they comfort eat!!
This is considered an addiction because your brain knows that when you feel down you are going to try and make yourself feel better with FOOD!!!
The most important thing that you have to do is retrain your brain and your mindset!
How would you feel if you came off The New You Plan, you had a bad day so you went down to the local chippy to pick up something greasy!
Yes it may of made you happy at the time, but how do you feel now, how do you feel after you have binged on junk food??
Terrible I bet, Was it worth it? I dont know about you but when I eat junk food I feel bloated, disgusting and I sit in self pity wondering why did it even do it!!!

Oh, i hate the feeling after a binge. The guilt, the bloated stomach, even the sick feeling when ive gone way to far. Then im devastated that ive let myself down again. I feel sad, disappointed, useless!!
On the New You plan i dont feel like this. I feel full of energy, positive, determined and strong. I still have the cravings for junk but i have different ways of coping with them now. Ill take a walk ir have a glass of water. Or maybe a shake ice lolly!! Ill do some squats or explodes or maybe even some wall stand and be amazed at what i can do now.
My mindset has transformed. There are still bad days of course but i handle them differently. And each bad day i conquer has that dominoe effect. Ive done it today so i can do it tomorrow and the next day and the next day. Im strong, im positive and the more i believe and feel this the stronger and better i become, woohoo xx
Yayyyy Christina you can do it 🙂 Thank you for sharing with us xxx
It’s all about learning to recognise ur strengths and using new you as a learning tool to feed and reschedule ur mind and body if I’m hungry now I tend to go and make a coffee first with a meal at and get busy that hunger pang goes and you will find you have Acevedo something you never would have if you had stuffed yourself with rubbish .
Everything has changed since starting the plan. If I’m having a stressful time and feel like blipping I go for a walk, ring a friend or meditate with the headspace app. All of these make me feel calmer and more positive and it’s worked every time. I am so motivated to stay 100% as this is the only plan that’s worked for me. I also find drinking the 4 litres keeps me feeling fuller and keeps my body healthy. Even on refeed I have been controlled and reserved and this will help me maintain for life xx
Yayyyy Jennie thank you for sharing with us 🙂 xxxx
I feel like a failure after eating junk food. I feel like I’ve let my body down not just myself! I feel instantly heavier, tired, bloated and my skin feels greasy. I just feel like having a bath to wash it all away.
My mindset has definetly changed since being on the new you plan. It now makes me question why do I crave junk food? What is happening to me right now which is making me want to reach for the unhealthy option? I self analyse more and remember always why I started. I think about how good I’ve been feeling and how much happier and energetic I’ve been.
If I’ve had a bad day, I will focus on images of myself as to how I want to be, I will do something like take the dogs out for a walk or call my friend and have a rant! If it’s later in the evening I will simply go to bed! – even just drinking water just helps me to calm and refocus. I make sure I have pictures dotted around of me when I was slim and healthy before which Spurs me on and also reminders of how far I have come on my journey. I also find the SS page on Facebook a winner if I’m feeling low. That inspires me and helps me tackle the binge cravings by a long shot!
Thank you for sharing with us Lindsey 🙂 Pictures is a great way to keep you focused and stay on track xx
after i have binged on junk food i feel bloated and guilty and miserable .
my mindset has changed because i realise i dont need the junk in my life any more .
i have a little walk instead nowadays. with my favorite music in my headphones x
Walks always help 🙂 Well done for overcoming the urge and staying focused xxx
Before I started New You binge eating was an everyday occurrence. I definitely have a sweet tooth and my diet was very high in carbs. I hadn’t realised just how bloated and uncomfortable I was.
When I feel like I want to binge I am now at the point where I question whether it is worth it and so far the answer has always been no!
When I’m having a bad day I now keep myself busy rather than heading to the food cupboard.
I am 5 weeks in and have lost the most weight on any kind of plan in the last 5 years, thank you New You!
Well done Laura. Keeping busy is a big factor while on plan. Thank you for sharing with us xxx
I used to feel woeful after a junk food binge,so bloated and lethargic fit for nothing really, since finding The New You Plan I no longer have junk food these days, thanks to new you I no longer LIVE TO EAT I eat to live we can survive on smaller portions, life still throws curveballs at me but these day I use Ss to keep me focused and away from crap food a moment on the lips a lifetime on the hips springs to mind x
Fab Pauline thank you for sharing with us 🙂 xxx
After binging on junk food I feel cross with myself, bloated and generally a bit miserable, the after effects the next day are feeling more lethargic.
I haven’t conquered it yet, the New You Plan is helping as Ive learned that I feel healthier when I eat better, but its still an ongoing battle for me, but Im not giving up.
After a bad day I try to change my habits – eg instead of going straight home after work – which is a trigger for me – I go to a friends, or family member, or do some none food shopping.
Thank you for sharing with us 🙂 You will do this and overcome the ongoing battle xxx
this is the only plan I have tried that has so much support attached to it. not only is the food tasting wonderful and you can have yr little treats, the back up to this plan is wonderful. if your feeling down if you have had a blip there is always support for you. I have lost 19Ibs on this plan so far in 5 weeks and I will continue use the plan and group going forward.
the plan is not just the food you eat, its the full package. food.support.and feeling good.
thanks you my new you family. remember if you blip don’t worry, just start again and be positive you will be able to reduce the blips just like the pounds in no time. x
Well done on such an awesome result Linda loving the way you are so positive – this mindset is going to ensure that you smash your goals! Good luck Linda and we are always here for you if there is anything you need.
When I binge on junk food, initially I can hear me telling myself it will make me happy. Immediately after, I feel sick, guilty, bloated.. Just plain disgusting. It’s a vicious cycle, it’s a blatant addiction because once I’ve started binging, I tell myself I may aswell continue.
Since starting the new you plan, I’ve finally regained control over food. I’ve realised that my happiness does not rely on food, that social events do not always have to be about food, and that the sugar in foods actually causes me to feel low!
Now, when I have a bad day, I have a long hot bath and get into my comfiest pj’s and watch a film while colouring 🙂 It’s the most empowering feeling, not feeling like my happiness depends on anything other than myself.
Thank you for sharing with use Ciara. Colouring is so therapeutic. Well done xxx
Eating junk food makes me feel disgusting. It makes me feel depressed as I know i have broken that willpower cycle. As im new to phase 2 on the plan it hasnt been long since i have had junk food, i do struggle with willpower so at the moment it is a battle. I do have to picture myself in a bikini everytime i think about blipping, and it does work! The only time i crave bad foods are immediately after my evening meal. I always want something sweet. So i load a coffee with tablet sweeteners now, and it does do the trick!
It’s crazy how the body changes so much. Foods I used to love and could wolf down now upset my stomach and make me feel sick and ill. There is 1 carb starchy food I could eat every day but I’ve not had for at least 3 months and I don’t miss it. There are so many healthy tasty recipes out there that it’s not possible you cannot lose weight and keep it off.
NY has been great and especially the SS who have come up with amazing recipes. And with new products coming out often (especially those that have come out now) it’s not impossible to stick to the plan. And even more so because the plan can be adapted to suit your needs.
Yes there are still days for cravings but I make jelly every morning before taking my son to school so I know I have something for when I get hungry or just feel like having something else. I have quotes on my phone, hash tags on kitchen cupboards and NY cards on the fridge so I am reminded constantly of what I want to do/achieve. If that fails there are the stories on the NY website and in the SS page x
I can honestly say my tastes have changed. I don’t crave any fast food anymore. I only have to think about all the grease that comes off that food and it makes me feel ill. Thinking about the fats, oils and greasy wrappers is enough to put me off. If I need something sweet I have a coffee with sweetners. Xxx
It’s actually hard to eat junk food on NY.
Nobody’s perfect but if you’re on plan you are well balanced nutritionally and won’t crave junk as such cos you’re full and satisfied.
However…we are only human. Sometimes being exposed to junk reminds you. I’m not perfect. I still have bad days when I reach for it or seek it out but… they are fewer and far between since I met my NY!!
After all…we have both sweet and savoury NY snacks and they’re FAB!!!
IN THE END…IF YOU HAVE TO BINGE…MAKE IT ON NEW YOU PRODUCTS!! LESS DAMAGE DONE!♡
