[Video] The New You Plan – Thought for Thursday – eat problems for breakfast
The New You Plan –
Thought for Thursday
Expect problems and eat them for breakfast
Last weeks Thought for Thursday was all about general mindset and how you manage yourself as a person, what you do to keep on track throughout the day. Today is more about tactical planning to ensure that the problems that you can forecast have minimum impact on your success with The New You Plan and indeed your goals in general.
For instance if you know that your breaks at work will be filled with temptation and this is the most likely cause of stress and disruption to your diet, you can plan around this to ensure you are kept comfortable and in a position to stay on track.
The Task for today:
You have the mindset, so now make sure the planning falls in line with this to give you the best chance of overall success. I want you to list one problem you are bound to have over the coming days and the solution to this problem. My aim here is develop forward planning in terms of staying on track with the diet, you are far more likely to commit to a predetermined solution that you know will work. Don’t let your known enemies defeat you!

The problem I will have is I have been invited for a Sunday roast at the mother in laws this week! I have been contemplating what to do for weeks! If I eat it will be for everyone else and I don’t want to so I have decided to ring her and warn her that I will be bringing my own food and explain the reasons. She is a lovely lady so I’m sure she will forgive me when she see’s how much I have lost already 🙂
Fantastic Jo – your dedication and determination will get you in line to succeed your goals!
The problem I often have is being away from home longer than planned so I ensure that there is always a bar in my bag and a bottle of water, a shaker and packet shake in the boot of my car for emergencies
Great planning Liz – being one step ahead of the game ensures a stumble will not put you out of the race!
My problem is I’m going away this weekend so being able to organise food will be difficult.
To help minimise the problem, I’m going to take snacks and bars and make the porridge in my room instead of going down for hotel breakfast. And of course plenty of water x
This type of thinking Sue is what will keep inching you ever closer to your goals 🙂 keep it up!
My problem is I have meetings 4 days a week and there is always refreshments with lots of goodies afterwards. So far (13.5 weeks)I have NEVER succumbed.I always have my N Y meal before I go and I tell myself I can have a snack when I get home, if I think I need it then. It works for me. xx
Awesome strategy Mags – it sounds like it has worked really well for you 🙂
I am working somewhere different tomorrow and no that I will be surrounded by colleagues I normally do not work with, so some how I have to try and find a way to have my products without them knowing xx
This is a tough one Wendy – I would suggest taking a bar with you any maybe a shake. Quick and convenient 🙂
My problem is a similar one.
I have my son and grandchildren coming down this weekend for a sleepover and I have, obviously, got to cook for them and on other diets this is where I have slipped and eaten what they eat. Cooking for them will be a big problem not to taste as a go.
It’s only Thursday and I am already getting my mind set and my willpower powered up …………… It’ll be a good weekend but a hard one xxxx
You will do this Gloria! 🙂 I would suggest getting your grandchildren to taste the food as it makes it more family time and you don’t have to eat then!
Am going pictures which is a big temptation, have got my BBQ puffs and Dr pepper ready and my daughter is going to have the same to support me
Woohoo Tracy, the support of family means so much! I hope you have a lovely time. Think you may have just given me an idea of what I am going to do for the weekend 🙂
Biggest problem is being on the road a lot but will always put a bar n a snack in my bag just in case so I don’t get caught out even if I’m longer than expected!!!
Preparation is the key ingredient to any success Kathleen 🙂
Tomorrow is Friday night which means TAKEAWAY NIGHT!!!!! I’ve found the best way for me to not be tempted is to have a long hot bath while everyone’s eating and when I hear the rubbish being put out I know it’s safe to get out of the bath!! 🙂 x
Simple solution to a not so simple problem 🙂 love it Clare!
my problem is also friday night takeaway i go for a long walk and when i get back i have ny new you meal problem solved x
Fantastic Pauline – the more you practice these types of habits the more ingrained they will become in your life 🙂
My dilemma is that my friend wants to take me out for my birthday next Saturday evening (15th), if i want to have a drink i have to refeed this weekend but this is too far away from Xmas and new year so I am going to tell her I will have a meal with her instead (Lean meat and veg)as I will be at the start of my refeed for Xmas, she is a good friend so I hope she understands, I have worked too hard to go backwards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely Shell and so often people will understand and it is always important to protect the things that enable you to move forward as a person! 🙂
Meeting up with an old friend who is over from Scotland on Sunday….will have a shake and a bar with me…just incase the day goes longer than planned. Have explained to her about the plan, and even though I have told her the weight I have lost…. don’t think she will believe it till she sees me….Finding I can sit in restaurants with others eating now and it doesn’t upset me…..If someone had told me that when I just began the plan I wouldn’t have believed them….actually PREFER my NY products lol…have a great weekend everyone and GOOD LUCK. xx
Woohoo Anne 🙂 you have the mindset – nothing stands in your way!
Taking my son to christmas pantomime temptation will be everywhere but I will take a bar with me and just focus on the show x
Good plan Rachel – don’t forget to drink lots of water to help you feel full. Just make sure you get your timing right for obvious reasons 🙂
I have sorted the next 4 days so I say on track. I am very determined so nothing is going to get in my way. I have however given myself some time tomorrow to have some treatments at the beauty salon- I know it will make me feel good 🙂
Planning to keep your mood up is equally as important Aimee 🙂 awesome way to bring a new dimension to this!
The weekends are always my problem. When I am out of routine, I find it tougher to follow plan and stick to 4 products. I just try to not start my first product too early and space them out. Snacks often get me through the weekend too nad stop me feeling deprived!
This is really using our products and plan to maximum effect – if you are going to opt for the snacks this is the type of factors to consider Sandra 🙂 Awesome!
My problem is that my hubby was readmitted back into hosp again today. I was only able to have 3 products and about 3 litres- so I need to still plan ahead and have a bar shake and water in the car in case I am not at home. The routine will be out the window for a while I am sure!!!
