#Meditation โ We live in such a busy noisy world, having time to sit still, and be quiet and not think about the busyness of life, is a great way to recharge. ย You can do this through prayer or meditation. ย If you havenโt tried mediation before, try a free app to meditate called Head Space. ย To benefit from meditation you need to make it a daily practice, it only takes a few minutes a day. Studies show that it reduces anxiety, depression and emotional eating.
We Asked the lovely Jennie What she though about the Head-space app and how it has helped her on her weight loss journey, read what she said –
If you think meditation is not for you I dare you to try it!! I downloaded the Headspace app on 4th April 2016 as part of #Mchallenge. I used it straight away as was feeling very stressed with the kids off school on Easter break and blips were surrounding me. I went to my bedroom to lie down and just listening to his voice calmed me instantly. The techniques were so simple but so effective, listening to each breath in and out and focusing on all the parts of your body really does refresh your mind. I feel very chilled out and ready to deal with the rest of the day with a new frame of mind.
I use this app daily and even use the techniques at bed time to de-stress and help forget about a manic shift at work and to relax my mind and stop overthinking, the last thing I remember before falling asleep is the smile on my face and counting to ten. I sleep so much better now that I meditate and it has changed my perceptions of dealing with stress, anxiety, tiredness, anger and has helped me to let go of things rather than bottle it all up.
It doesn’t take long to do and you can incorporate it into all areas of your life and you’ll probably find that you see the world in a whole new way and deal with things so differently. This is one app that is here to stay!

Wow, I needed that after my first boot camp session this morning. I feel calm, grounded and re-energised ready to deal with the rest of the day xx
I love guided meditations, find them so much easier than doing it myself. And funnily enough, I find colouring in quite meditative too! I have being doing it for years, long before it “became trendy”.
Hi, I love meditation. I try to meditate every day. This guided one was lovely and a nice change to what I usually do. Might use this more now.
I have also done Mandala colouring in and love it, so relaxing.
I think with the practice of meditation it makes you make wiser food choices ands lows you to be more present and mindful about what you put in your mouth. ๐
How releasing! I will be subscribing and listening to this at night. I have been so tired for a few night but unable to sleep so this will be really helpful.
We have done adult colouring in our class at school with relaxing music on in the background and all the ladies really enjoyed it.
It was lovely to meditate and clear my head. I feel more focused and calm. Ready to face the rest of the day. X

Very nearly asleep, I love meditating and trying to find the calm in chaos sometimes. I started using an adult coloring book when pregnant to give me a bit of time out ๐
Omg this made me forget everything for a moment and made we aware of the gap between the eyebrows I had moving dark shadow and then it went lighter my body was following the voice. Going defo download app. So so relaxing ๐๐
Wow ! That was amazing. My shoulders instantly relaxed. Then there was a black spidery image and purple around it and then an eye with eyelashes. That was lovely and I did feel floaty. Thank you for sharing x
I just done the mediation while sitting in the car waiting for my daughter. I don’t get much time alone in my day so I usually use this 30mins while waiting on holly do her piano lesson to just sit and relax and catch my breath. This was a lovely mediation and I can see myself doing this again. I feel very relaxed and calm now.
Feeling really calm, relaxed, no desire to rush but to slow everything down, take my time.
Recently tried Headspace App before going to bed – amazing. Within a few mins fell asleep, woke an hour later, felt really relaxed, put my phone away and instantly fell asleep again. After a good nights sleep, woke still feeling chilled and relaxed. Only downside instead of taking 1hr to get ready for work, took 2hrs as was so chilled took my time.
Amazed at how long the positive effects lasted, all morning at work I felt like a leaf floating on a lake of serenity, effects lasted 12hrs – 14hrs.
I was told recently at a Laughter Workshop, we have approximately 20% stale air in our lungs all the time as we don’t breathe deeply enough. Meditating will help stop this.
Ah the meditation has really helped me to re focus and relax . So much pain in my life right now , and the breathing technique really helped to reduce my panic and anxiety state . I am definately going to incorporate relaxation into my life on a daily basis now , and try and encourage my hubby to as well xx
This was fab listened to it while having a bath after doing gardening which is total out my comfort zone as I am not a fan of gardening and hate bugs lol,now could have a nice wee sleep ๐
I used to do this with women’s groups at the end of Self awareness classes. It’s so nice to be on the meditation side of the coin this time…not to be the guidance tutor! Love it. Will do it again.x
