I can do the crab!

In January I could hardly walk, I could hardly do anything, my mobility was so bad (this was due to suffering from severe SPD during my pregnancy – which is a pelvic condition that makes it very sore to walk or move, and one of the main reasons why I put on so much weight in my pregnancy).

In February I started to work with a yoga / pilates trainer – I signed up for a 6 week course for people recovering from injury.  It was once a week and progress was slow to start, but I started to build my momentum, and soon I was finding my core strength was improving, after 6 weeks, I signed up for another session, this time 6 weeks but 2 sessions per week.   Well the improvement now, that I have sessions twice a week plus practice most days is amazing.  My flexibility has increased massively!

So much has my flexibility increased that I can now do the crab! Which is a very advanced yoga move!!

This is not a picture of me, but a picture to show you what the crab is! As you can see it is quite a funky wee position to get into and hold!!

I am really loving yoga, and last night I ordered a Yoga Mat, and I am going to my first class next Thursday night.  I am quite nervous about going as I haven’t been to an exercise class or anything like this in years.  But at least I feel a bit more confident that I can actually do yoga moves!!

I have made so much progress from January.  It has been overwhelming, but no matter how overwhelming your journey looks, no matter how big the mountain looks, you will get there day at a time.

If anyone had of told me in January that I would be able to do the crab in 4 months I would looked at them as if they were off their head!!  But here I am doing the crab, thinking of going to an actual yoga class, and walking without pain!

My BMI has also went from 45 to 32… I am looking forward to getting my BMI under 30… day by day I will get there!! And so will you!
