How To Kill Off The Old New To Create Your New You!

Here, New You Plan Founder Julie-Ann shares why in order to create your New You, you firstly need to kill off the old you!

Creating a NEW YOU starts within. If you REALLY want to create a new you and an amazing transformation, you need to kill off the parts of you that have been holding you back.

If you approach your diet with the mindset that you are going to do total food replacement and get to your target weight without changing who you are inside, then the results will probably not last long as you still have the same desires, habits, mindsets, behaviours, food, and beliefs.

If we REALLY WANT TO CREATE LONG LASTING CHANGE we really need to leave behind the old version of ourselves who looks for excuses to not show up and put our health first above everything else.

The great thing about life and creating transformations is that you get to decide who you are and you CAN CHANGE at any time.

Fitness, health and well-being are central to the quality of our lives. Yet when our lives get busy and when life throws us a curve ball that knocks us for six, it is very easy to let our healthy habits and mindsets slip. The diet goes out the window, the Fit Bit doesn’t get charged, the gym gear doesn’t see the light of day, and these are replaced with comfort foods, Netflix and social media. Then, before you know it, the snowball effect happens and the pounds pile back on.

A true transformation is when you change who you are as a person and your whole self image. You have to get to the point where you actually think that you are insane for preferring to watch Netflix over going for a walk, and crazy for wanting to eat a pasta bake instead of drinking your New You Shake. You almost have to want to kill the person you used to be, and never plan on going back.

When you make a major commitment to your transformation life will test you. It is almost as if the universe wants to find out “Are you serious? Are you really going to change?” And then it sends us some tests to find out… like a cold, or an invitation to a night out next weekend.

How we react to these challenges that come up, really set the tone for whether we really are ready to change who we are at the core.

What challenges are coming up for you right now?

What are you using as an excuse not to commit to your transformation today?

Take a moment please to think of your NEW YOU… The version of you that is at your healthy target weight, wearing the clothes that you dream of, having the energy to bounce out of bed every morning, loving working out, socialising and setting a great example to their kids and inspiring their friends and family.

How would this version of you react to the challenges you are facing today?
That version of you would not let your challenges today derail you. That version of you would be digging deep and finding the strength to be disciplined and keep going.

If you really want to create a NEW YOU in 2019, you need to kill off the old you that is holding you back and letting excuses stop you from stepping into the person you truly deserve to be.

Decide TODAY that you are that new person and start making decisions, acting and thinking like that new version of you.

Make the decision to transform who you are at your core.

We all know we have that voice in our head that wants to derail us from our diet. The battle of the mind is real. But once you make the commitment to your NEW YOU, you will find it easier and easier to not even get into a dialogue with your bad wolf. Before you know it, the bad wolf will be so weak that he will die, and that is central to you killing off your old you, so that you can create your new you.

You need to kill off the person that loves doing the things that make you fat.

Kill off the person who…

  • Loves using challenges as an excuse not to be disciplined
  • Loves watching TV for hours every evening
  • Loves cooking high carb & high fat meals
  • Loves eating out too much
  • Loves getting takeaways
  • Loves drinking alcohol
  • Loves eating biscuits with every cup of tea
  • Loves ordering lattes and cake in their favourite coffee shop
  • Loves watching TV late at night
  • Loves scrolling through Facebook or Instagram
  • Loves watching endless hours of YouTube videos
  • Loves treating themselves with food when they have a good or bad day

The best way to stop liking the things that make you fat and unhealthy is to REPLACE them with things you love to do that make you healthy.

You need to create a NEW SELF IDENTITY.

Create a New You that loves…

  • Loves losing weight
  • Loves looking amazing
  • Loves getting to bed early
  • Loves waking up early
  • Loves doing a workout first thing in the morning
  • Loves writing in a gratitude journal
  • Loves hitting 10k steps on their Fitbit everyday
  • Loves trying new exercises
  • Loves meeting friends for a walk or a hike
  • Loves creating social media posts that inspires others
  • Loves reading and learning about nutrition
  • Loves shopping for clothes
  • Loves meditating
  • Loves doing charity runs to raise money
  • Loves drinking americano coffee

Make a commitment to yourself that you are going to be the type of person who LOVES LOOKING AFTER THEIR BODY. Make it clear and final to yourself that it is a done deal. It is final. There is NO GOING BACK. Start today to think and act like your new you, especially with that bad wolf in your own head who keeps telling you to start tomorrow.

Everyday count your wins and be proud of everything that you overcome. When you notice a changed behaviour and when you follow through with your discipline, be proud, every single one of these actions is building your new you from the inside out.

The biggest challenge in creating your new you is wanting to make this mindset shift that you are no longer that person, and that everything about your self identity has changed.

You are probably reading this right now and thinking, yes, yes and yes, I am going to do this… but at the same time already coming up with excuses as to why you should put if off.

Intentionally, now pick a date that the old you is killed off 100% by. And spend the time between now and that date preparing everything for your new you to have the best possible start in your life.

Creating a new you is an inside job first and foremost. Total food replacement is a head diet also. If you can get to the place that you want to kill off the old you, and you want to use total food replacement as a kick start tool to totally reset your life, and give you a spring board into a new healthy lifestyle you will be able to live the life of your dreams.

Do the inside work. Follow the diet plan. Believe in the person that you want to be!

2019 is the year of transformation. Get started, make it happen, so you can step in 2020 looking and feeling like that future version of your new you that you are creating on the inside today.

For everyone out there already killing it in 2019, keep going!! Keep inspiring!
