Distraction Techniques – Ways to WIN!!!

If you are starting the NewYouPlan and you are thinking –

* oh what will I do when hunger strikes?
* How will I manage on just 3/4 products?
*I don’t know if I have the will-power

Firstly you NEED to get into the right mind-set! No more negative thoughts. You need to dig deep and answer the question – How did I do this to myself?

Write down a list of bad habits that led you to gain weight. For example – late night eating, lack of portion control, never feeling full, comfort eating, choosing the wrong things etc.
Those habits stop now! You will now be conscious of what goes into your body and at what time!

Here are a few ways to win –

1. Mantra/ Affirmation
Write down a positive sentence to repeat to yourself over and over as many times a day as you can! Something like “I can and I will succeed. I will look and feel slim and healthy”  If you repeat this enough times you will start to believe it and your subconscious will help to put the plan into action! BELIEVING in yourself is so important!!!!!

2. Cut out late night eating
On a typical day your body doesn’t need fuelling after 7pm. If you can set this as your cut off point you will find you get a better night’s sleep and you will wake feeling energized! Ways to help yourself stop the late night eating is to have a cup of tea, fill up on water, brush your teeth, go to bed early, go for a walk, take a book to bed,  tackle the laundry! There are lots of things you can do to keep your mind off those old habits! (Have a look at distraction techniques below)

3. Get involved in some form of exercise.
Whether or not you join a class (zumba, swimming, spinning, boxercise, yoga etc.) or you do it in the comfort of your own home (Wii fit, zumba DVD, fitness DVD, walk the dog etc.)  You will find that working out helps clear your mind and lift your mood! You will feel great afterwards and it will help with toning as you slim down!

4. Plan your meal times, meet your water quota.
It’s so important you drink a minimum of two litres of water per day. If you can do 3-4 that’s even better!! The water really helps to flush your system and it fills you up too! Don’t leave huge gaps between meals, set a time and stick to it!

5. SECRET SLIMMERS!
If you are not a member, you are missing out! This group is AMAZING!!!! The support, tips and motivation you get from within the group is invaluable and there is always somebody there to listen and offer advice!

6. Lastly… GET EXCITED!!!
This is your moment. You CAN succeed and be the weight you want to be. All you have to do is STICK TO THE PLAN!
Don’t be feeling sorry for yourself because you can’t eat a carb laden Chinese or a bag of sweets…remember that’s what got you into this mess in the first place!!

This is your way out!!!

can do!
