In this heartfelt interview, Kirsty shares her powerful journey of healing, growth, and determination – proving that it’s never too late to start again.

Starting Over with Strength

Emma: How much weight have you lost, and what is your overall goal?

Kirsty: I’ve lost over 5st. I started around 16st 4lbs and now I’m 10st 9lbs. I’m very much a work in progress and would love to reach around 9st.

Emma: What initially led you to starting the plan, and how were you feeling when you began?

Kirsty: I’ve been familiar with the plan for a long time – I used to do Slim & Save and transitioned to The New You Plan. For years, I used it more for maintenance, dipping in and out. But after having my baby, I felt really low about myself and knew I needed to go all in. I was confident it would work because I’d seen the results before. It’s convenient, quick, and the meals are genuinely enjoyable.

Emma: How did you feel when you found out you’d won the challenge?

Kirsty: Honestly? Surprised. I never feel like I’m worthy of anything. But I felt really strongly about the importance of showing the real postpartum experience – not the glossy “bounce back” you see online. If my story can help just one person, then it’s worth it.

A New Level of Energy & Confidence Thanks To Losing Over 5st

Emma: How did your first week on plan go?

Kirsty: The energy hit me straight away. It’s like a high – and I’d forgotten how good that feels. By day 4 or 5, I was in ketosis and just felt better. Still tired, of course – I have a little one – but it was a different kind of tired. A clearer, lighter tired. And the packs? Honestly, I don’t know how I would have eaten properly without them. They’ve saved me from snacking or reaching for takeaways when life is chaotic.

Emma: What changes did you notice beyond the scales?

Kirsty: So many. My thumbnail, which had been split since pregnancy, healed. I haven’t lost any hair like I’d expected postpartum – I credit that to the nutrients in the plan. It’s more than just weight loss. It’s better skin, better sleep, more energy… everything just improved.

Emma: What are some of your favourite meals and snacks?

Kirsty: Pasta Carbonara is my go-to – I’m addicted. I also love the Chocolate Orange Bar, Strawberry & White Chocolate Bar, Chicken Noodle Soup, Chocolate Brownie… oh, and I’ve recently discovered the Pasta Broccoli, which I now adore!

Rebuilding Self-Belief After Baby

Emma: How has your life changed so far?

Kirsty: Before, I was embarrassed to leave the house. I’d always wear makeup, hide in leggings, avoid mirrors. I barely took photos. I didn’t suffer postpartum depression, but I know if I hadn’t started the plan, I could have spiralled. Now I’m out walking, going swimming with my daughter, and feeling less self-conscious. I even have a concert coming up – and instead of panicking over what to wear, I’m just going to throw on a pre-pregnancy dress and enjoy it.

Emma: Any standout non-scale victories?

Kirsty: Fitting into my pre-pregnancy clothes is huge. But more than that – walking out the door without worrying what others think. I don’t feel invisible or embarrassed anymore. That’s been the biggest win for me.

Habits, Hormones & Healthy Mindsets

Emma: What has The Plan taught you?

Kirsty: That it doesn’t need to be all-or-nothing. This time, I’ve adapted the plan to my life. I’ve had a hen do, gone out for meals – and the next day, I’m back on it. It’s about consistency, not perfection. I listen to my body more, especially during hormonal times. Sometimes I’ll add vegetables to my meals to feel fuller without going off-plan. It’s about nourishing yourself, not punishing yourself.

Emma: What advice would you give to your past self, or someone just starting the plan?

Kirsty: Have faith. The first few days can be hard, but if you push through and stick to it, ketosis kicks in, hunger fades, and you’ll feel amazing. It really does work when you do it correctly. Trust the process.

Looking Ahead

Emma: What are you most looking forward to when you hit your goal?

Kirsty: I don’t have a big occasion or specific event in mind – I just want to know I’ve achieved what I set out to do. Fitting into my original “small” jeans would be amazing, but it’s not everything. Bodies change after birth. For me, it’s about feeling strong and confident in myself again. I know I’ll get there.
