HAPPY HEALTHY HIGH FIVE
In this blog series I am sharing what I am up to each week to be happy and healthy; and challenging you to see what you can do next week to be healthy and happy too.
You don’t have to wait until you are at your healthy target weight to say you are happy and healthy. You can be happy and healthy today! Your New You Plan is a journey not a destination. To make this a life long journey you need to look at the whole picture of your life. Review your habits, and take actions to stop the ones that are holding you back, by replacing them with healthier habits. Review what makes you unhappy, and take responsibility to turn it around and be empowered to be happy on your terms. Happiness mostly comes from simple basic daily rituals. I have been studying happiness for many years, and applying different habits and rituals to keep me feeling calm, upbeat and positive.
The only way you can become happy and healthy is by making time to schedule in your new habits, rituals and treats.
I am going to be totally honest and say that I am hopeless at building in exercise, having spent so much time in bed, in a wheelchair or in crutches over the last 5 years (over 2.5 years in total) you would think that I would be dying to get up and get moving now that I can. I want to get up and build exercise into my life, but I put so much energy into my work and my kids that after that I just want to chill out! I need to change this, this is my big challenge, and one that I want to master and share my journey with you. I have been doing exercise every week this year but this week I missed out, I don’t want that to happen again, so I am scheduling exercise into my week and making it a priority for next week!
The things about building happy healthy habits into your life, is that they become your default way to live, so it doesn’t matter whether you are on plan or off plan, you are still focused on keeping your happy and healthy habits in place. If you can keep your mind focused on being happy and healthy in all areas of your life, you will find long term success, and any bouts of self sabotage, emotional eating, or any other bad eating habits, will soon be counteracted because everyday you will remind yourself to love yourself with your healthy happy habits.
JULZ HEALTHY HAPPY HIGH FIVE THIS WEEK 🙂
What I have been up to this week 🙂 31st January 2016 – 6th February 2016
1.) Turning Problems Into Challenges – I have a list of problems that would freak anyone out! Seriously, sometimes I feel so overwhelmed at everything “I need to sort out!”. This week I typed them all out, a total brain dump. (Try it, it is enlightening.) I took a deep breath…. (1…. 2…… 3…..) and took responsibility for all my problems, (BOOM!). An amazing thing happens when you take responsibility for your problems: you now own them and that means you can control them. I looked at my problems as challenges for me to overcome. I owned these challenges, I could solve them, this is going to be fun! Instant motivation! Then I looked at my list of problems/challenges…. and reworded them to turned them into opportunities. Lack of….. turned into Opportunity to Create More….. All week I have working on my list of opportunities to create more positive results in my life. It has been brilliant. When you develop this skill; you no longer live a life with problems; just with opportunities, and that is good for your mental health and overall happiness 🙂
- QUESTION? – What problems are overwhelming you? Write them all down and own them. Turn your problems into challenges, and feel excited and motivated to take the challenges on. Turn your challenges into opportunities to grow and improve your life. Take action, every single day. Ask others for help in a positive and empowering way. See your whole world change!!
2. ) Laughing A LOT – I love a good laugh. If you have ever heard me laugh I have one of those really loud embarrassing laughs! lol Some weeks we can all laugh more than others, but this week I just seem to be seeing the brighter side and funnier side of everything. I have been laughing every day, and I tell you what it has been such a great thing! Whoever said Laughing is the best form of medicine was not lying. Laughing definitely makes you happy and healthy! I see so many people who seem to be so serious all the time, or angry with life! Lighten up, Laugh, Make People Smile, Be a Light! 🙂
- QUESTION? – When was the last time you almost wet yourself laughing? When something happens do you look for the funny side? How can you add more laughter into your week? How can be more silly? Have more fun? How can you make other people smile? Do you take yourself and life too seriously sometimes?? This week I challenge you to be a big kid!
3.) Coffee Shop – One of my favourite things is to do is go to a coffee shop on my own with a brand new note book from paper chase and a pen. I just sit there for an hour or so and write…. I love to write out my goals and plans. I re-write my goals and plans all the time. It keeps me focused and excited. The more you write out your goals, the more you are engraving them in your heart and in your head and re-wiring your brain to believe that they can come true. I always feel so exhilarated after doing this. Make sure that your goals and plans are life changing and things that you would absolutely love to happen to you. Always write out your BIG vision and then the simple steps you can take this week to take one step closer to your vision.
- QUESTION? – What are your dreams? What actions are you going to take this week to move one step closer to your dreams? When was the last time you went to a coffee shop with a note book? My challenge for you this week is to go to a coffee shop with a note book and write out your goals and plans.
4.) VIP Cinema Creed – I love going to the movies, we only recently started going as a couple now that are girls are bit older it is easier to get baby sitters. This week we went to see Creed, I love movies that inspire me. Even when I go to the kids movies with the girls, I always feel inspired by the messages behind the story, the morale of the story. Creed was a great film, and we got the VIP seats that are like big sofas with leg rests. Unreal 🙂 Anyway… the movie was great, my favourite line in the movie was “It’s You Against You…. he is just standing in the way!” Rocky said this to the guy he was coaching when he was getting beat to a pulp in the ring! In life, we are not in a competition with anyone else, the only person we are up against is ourselves. Our own mind. Stay focused on your dreams, don’t give your power away to anyone or anything. You can do this, just get out of your own way, dig deep and stand in your power!
- QUESTION? – When was the last time you watched a movie that inspired you? Where in your life do you need to get out of your own way and realise that the only person you are up against is yourself?
5.) Clothes Shopping on my ownsome! – I went clothes shopping on my own, normally the whole family is with me or I shop online! So I had the whole afternoon on Friday and decided to just take my time, I tried on LOADS OF CLOTHES. Talk about motivating!! I was so motivated to stay focused on crossing the finish line. I bought a couple of things, one is a lovely black Biba top and another top that is a little bit tight but that I could get away with wearing now, but hopefully in a couple of weeks it will fit me perfect. It was great, and I want to do this every couple of weeks, as when you follow our FAST FOCUS plan you can lose about 7 pounds* every 2 weeks, and that makes a massive difference in clothes!
- QUESTION? – When was the last time you had an afternoon on your own, with no stress, not looking for a particular outfit, just browsing clothes and trying them on at your leisure? I challenge you to make some time to go and do that this week!
If you feel inspired to take action on any of my HAPPY HEALTHY HIGH FIVES please let me know! I would love to know what you are doing to be happy and healthy this week 🙂
