
3st Down & Still Smashing It: How Helen’s Maintaining Her Weight Loss and Loving Life!

After losing 3st with The New You Plan, Helen hasn’t just hit her goal – she’s been maintaining it since March and discovered a whole new level of confidence and balance along the way. Helen, how much weight have you lost?
I’ve lost 3st in total and I’ve maintained this loss this March – so it’s almost 5 months since I hit my goal. My original goal was 35lb but after my little break I decided to lose another 7lb to get my BMI down below 25. I may lose a little more just so I have a little breathing space, now I’m happy being me.
What were the biggest mental shifts you had to make while maintaining?

My biggest mental shift is believing in myself and trusting the process. Taking each day as it comes. I was grateful for a loss whatever amount each week.
I’ve come to the conclusion that food isn’t the enemy – it’s just the actual amount that is. I’ve recently come back from an all-inclusive holiday. Yes, I ate well, but I also chose well.
My mindset has changed, and I’m satisfied sooner and find some foods no longer a trigger.
I’m starting to love my body for the first time in a very long while.
How do you handle challenges or slips now that you’re maintaining?

I try not to call them slip ups and just bad food choices for that day. If I do have more than planned then I will have a few days back on the products to regain control and balance. I always keep track of my weight each week – it’s become one of my new good habits.
What meals or snacks still feel like staples in your routine?
I have at least 2 or 3 New You products a day. I find them an easy, simple go-to for my working week. I’ll have a few shakes a day, some chocolate balls, fruit with yoghurt, then an evening meal to make up my calories. The packs are my new norm, even if it’s just 5 days a week.
I find the food noise has gone because I know what I’m allowed.
What’s the nicest compliment you’ve received since maintaining your loss?

The nicest compliments I’ve received have been from the guys and girls at my work. The girls found it hard to approach at first. One guy, bless him, asked if I was OK and was the weight loss intentional!
But best of all, my no filter friend just calls my “Skinny b*tch” which I just love!

If you could speak to someone about to finish the plan, what would you tell them?
When you finish the plan, don’t step away – stay with the products, even as a crutch to lean on. The support it crucial and can help you introduce good foods and good habits.
