Top 10 Tips For Your First Week On TFR

WOW! You made the epic decision to place your first order with New You! Your beautifully packaged parcel arrives a day or so later. You rip open the box in trepidation, not really knowing what to expect; and there inside lies gorgeous heavenly pinks and sunny yellows encasing an abundance of packs and bars, snacks and shakers.

You unpack your box, looking to see what you ordered thinking: ‘Is this really going to make me thin?’ ‘What happens now?’. You probably feel a little apprehensive and scared. So with this in mind, we’ve put together 10 top tips to help you get started on your New You journey!

Top 10 Tips For Your First Week On TFR

1. Get organised

Clear out a drawer or cupboard or buy yourself some stacking boxes and sort your packs out. So people like to go as far as to sort their packs for the full week. A fab top tip is to pop your meals and snacks for each day into individual bags so that you can just grab and go, without having to think too much about it. It’s also a fab idea to pop a bar or two into your handbag or ruck sack just in case you are out and about for longer than anticipated. This means you’ll never be caught short! Purchase a drinking water bottle or stack up on mineral water from the supermarket too so that getting your daily water intake is a breeze!

2. Pick a day

Choose your start date and commit to it. Tell your friends and family that you are starting a diet. Be accountable; this in turn will ease the awkwardness when you get invited out or have a family gathering.

3. Planning is key

Plan your goals! Keep them small and achievable with a non-food reward when you reach them. Some find it helpful to keep a journal to record their thoughts, feelings and of course losses. Take your measurements, weigh yourself and don’t forget those all important before and after photos. You may not feel like taking the photos but you will be amazed even after one week when you take your second photo at how different you look.

4. The products

You must have four products a day (5 products if you are over 17 stone) and 3 to 4 litres of water per day. Each pack contains 25% of your RDAs so consuming four will ensure you are getting all the vitamins and minerals your body needs. Plus, if you don’t eat 4 meals per day you will not be getting enough calories and so you will not burn fat!

5. Say hello in Secret Slimmers

Come to the Secret Slimmers page and introduce yourself. You will be amazed at how supportive and friendly our community is. This is the key to your weight loss. You will be welcomed and encouraged every step of your unique journey. There are plenty of people on there to guide you, from our experienced Cheerleaders to other Secret Slimmers on the same path as you. You will never be alone. The great thing is our page is totally secret, so nobody else apart from fellow slimmers will see what you post. Have a look though the ‘Files’ section, where it explains what you can and cannot have whilst on plan.

We do have a few rules in our group – we never talk about food unless it’s a New You product. If you must talk about food please refer to it as a blip. Be kind and supportive to other slimmers and don’t mention any other diet companies. Get involved on the page by taking part in the challenges and themed days. They are there to keep you motivated.

6. Days 1 – 3

Now, I won’t lie, these will be your toughest days. Your body is going through a massive detox so you can expect tiredness and perhaps a headache or two. So, warm baths, early nights and tablet form paracetamol help hugely. You will need to stay 100% focused on these three days and push your way through it. Before you know it, ketosis will kick in and you will be feeling fabulous!

7. Get to know ketosis

Ketosis will kick in around days 4 to 7. We are all different but you will know when it does. You may have massively increased energy levels, and a strange metallic taste in your mouth or ‘Ketosis breath’ as we like to call it. This is all totally normal.

8. Weigh-in day!

Only weigh yourself once a week – 7 days after you have started the plan. This will be your weigh-in day every week. It is imperative that you only weigh yourself once a week as your weight will fluctuate throughout the week and this could leave you feeling demotivated. Always remember that your journey is unique to you and so never compare your losses to anybody else. One week you may not have as big a loss as you hoped, so this is when you take your measurements as it’s highly likely you have lost inches!

9. Exercise!

It is not imperative that you exercise whilst on plan as your body is already going through a lot. However, a good brisk walk in the fresh air is perfect in the early days. You may feel like taking up some sort of exercise once you are firmly established on your journey, which is great but you must always be mindful that you need to keep your calories above 450 to stay medically safe. If you have burnt a lot of calories, you may need an extra pack.

10. Down with negativity

There will always be doubters – there will always be people who tell you that the plan is not safe. It is 100% safe. This is YOUR journey, YOUR body and YOUR mind. They will soon see the pounds falling off you and then they will want to know more about how you did it!

      To day is my day 3 so doing well I don’t feel hungry trying to drink the water and feeling ok
      Looking forward to weighting in on day 7

      I’ve started my new you journey yesterday for to afternoon delivery I managed to fit in s snack dinner an shake I weighed my self before an look forward to seeing the results over time .
      Unsure if I’m going thru ketosis yet I do feel lotttlw tired nelly ache am ahead ache

      I am back to new you to achieve my goal.
      I started new you 15 February 2018. I lost 23 kg. From 100 to 77 kg within 3 months.
      I was really determined. My goal is
      70-68 kg. Been off and on new you I am back to New You last Friday on 82 kg. I am 79 kg today Tuesday 14/04/20 and really determined to reach my goal before May ending. I have been a wonderful experience. From size 18/20 I am 12/14 and hope to read size 10. Thanks to New You.
