OonaghOonagh smashed her way through 6.1 stone on our Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD) at the point that this interview was done and has continued to excel in her weight loss goals. This weight loss resulted in an overall drop in dress sizes from an 18 or 20 right down to the amazing size 12 you see in the photos.

For us it has been fantastic to see these changes and Oonagh takes the time to cover all aspects of the diet and how she got to this point.

 

The key points for Oonagh doing our VLCD plan:

IMG_3207bOonagh had lost weight in the past but due to lifes natural trials had put some of this back on. This had lead to a few social situations that made Oonagh desire this change. However more importantly Oonagh also felt uncomfortable and had concerns about her health.

 

 

The benefits Oonagh has enjoyed since losing weight:

IMG_3766gOne of the benefits of a VLCD is the sheer rate at which the results come into play. Being a person who loves the outdoors and walking Oonagh noticed very quickly that being lighter on her feet had massive benefits to how much she could enjoy outdoor activities especially and most notably when she started walking.

After just a few weeks on The New You Plan VLCD Oonagh saw huge improvements in her stamina on walks. From my talk with her I saw this had a two fold effect, firstly it boosted her confidence to be able to achieve so much on her walks. Secondly as she was finding the activity so much easier it gave her the chance to enjoy the stimulation walking provides to all her senses.

As an added bonus Oonagh feels more comfortable socially since losing weight. The interesting thing here is when Oonagh refers to social situations she highlights that this is not just at a recreational level but indeed in her job too as it involves interacting with so many others.

How Oonagh deals with stress while succeeding on our VLCD

IMG_3743a-001gOonagh feels that her key to success and dealing with stress is by just taking the diet one day at a time. She also mentions that she has molded her environment to be conducive to her diet. To serve as an example of this Oonagh mentions that she has her own dedicated cupboard in the house for her New You VLCD products.

She also accepts that eating comfort foods is a vicious circle with very little or no reward that results in negative long term effects. This is compounded by the fact that Oonagh has decided that she is making this change for her and accepting this as something that she wants above all other things.

 

We talk support:

Oonagh is quick to mention the support that she gets through us here in the office, which thrilled me as we try our hardest to be there for our customers. Oonagh mentions that for day to day support the Secret Slimmers is second to none and she is always on the page. She is able to get support and inspiration from this group any time of the night or day.

Oonagh’s routine on Total Food Replacement:

Oonaghs typical day on The New You Plan is as follows. She has five 750ml bottles of water to help her gauge her water intake on the plan. She has one of our shakes for breakfast, soup for lunch, a shake for tea and another shake in the evening. Oonagh also opts to have a meal on days when she has been out for a walk.

Oonagh’s routine on Refeed

As per the guidelines for VLCD Oonagh did her refeed on week 12 and did the refeed for just over a week and made full use of our Momentum Maintainers group, which like our Secret Slimmers is an exclusive and private group for people that are doing refeed and is a great place to find refeed menu plans.
