Feeling “Sluggish, fat and frumpy” at the age of just 28, Debbie Fairgrieve knew she couldn’t go on any longer. “I can remember the moment when I knew I had to do something about my weight. My ex had just left me in April and I felt at my lowest point and thought it was because of how I looked. I wallowed in self-pity and food for about 5 months and decided enough was enough. It was three months before Christmas and I was now a fully-fledged taxi driver. I didn’t want people seeing me look like that so I made the decision to do something about it.
The reason I was that size is because I am addicted to food, plain and simple! I love good, tasty food and a little is never enough. I am also an emotional eater. When I was happy/ sad/ frustrated/angry, food is and probably always will be my crutch but with New You I can get it under control when it gets out of hand.
When I started New You I was 15 stone 7lbs. I was a size 20 and feeling sluggish, fat and frumpy. Although I had already lost weight, I needed to get past this final hurdle. At the age of just 28 I knew I had to do something about it.

I had completed other Total Food Replacement Diets before but I liked the sound of the meals with this one, as the other diets I’d tried were just bars and shakes. A day on the plan for me is as follows; lunch around 12.00pm would be Spicy Noodle Nosh, Cottage Pie or Vegetable Chilli followed by half a Bar. Tea around 4.00pm usually consists of double Cottage Pie and Chilli or Omelette and Chilli followed by another half a bar. And my final meal would be around 7.00pm, which could be pancakes or more of one of the hot Meals. I haven’t tried the Burgers or Brownies yet but I’ll definitely be adding them to my next order as well as the new Crisps.
Currently, I weigh 11 stone 6lbs and feel amazing. I actually wore a bikini on holiday for the first time ever 3 weeks ago…although my body is not perfect I felt so confident. I have another 10 – 14 lbs to lose but thankfully, I have found the perfect diet to finally get to my goal!
Life at the minute is pretty amazing. My biggest accomplishment to date is that I can now ride my horse without feeling guilty that I am too heavy for him. I also met an amazing man in February and we are now engaged and planning the rest of our lives together. It makes me laugh now when people don’t recognise me anymore. To date, the best compliment I received was: “You are not Debbie Fairgrieve…you look amazing!”
For anyone currently on plan, my advice would be to not be disheartened if you fall of plan. All you have to do is take a detour and get back on. Keep plugging away…every pound lost is a step closer to your end goal. Do not beat yourself up if you fall off the waggon.
