When Victoria Started her Weight Loss Journey:

Victoria’s weight loss story

I began my New You journey on January 5th 2014 at 10st 9lbs. I decided on New Year’s Eve that I had to do something, I am 5’2 in height and quite small boned and therefore carrying any weight at all looks awful, I just don’t carry it well. I had been miserable since the weight began to pile back on after my wedding, so much so that I had become a complete recluse and refused to meet friends or even family anymore.

What Pushed Victoria to Start:

Sipping a few glasses of bubbly with my husband on New Year’s Eve, sitting in our living room, my mind kept flashing back to a page on Facebook I had liked earlier, one I had seen on a few friends pages and thought “hmmm, new me?”. I was reluctant at first as I was only aware of TFR diets through a pharmacy and wasn’t sure if an online version would be legit.

I weighed roughly 10st 9lbs. I didn’t weigh on my first day as I couldn’t face it so I weighed in after one day of TFR. In total I have lost 40lbs .. I gained 5/6 recently but that was my own fault, holiday weight so I am back for a week or two to shift that. I went from a size 12/14 to a size 8/10

What Victoria hoped to gain from losing weight and the benefits so far:

I wanted to feel proud of my body, I wanted my confidence back to go out again and not hide away from people out of shame and to prime my body for hopefully having more children in the near future.Benefits I have seen are, I can wear jeans and dresses again, I can shop for clothes without it being an ordeal resulting in tears and zero purchases! I’m meeting friends again, more enthusiastic in my job and feel more able to deal with stress and negativity whereas before I would get consumed by negativity and become quite down about things, even the smallest of things.

Victoria’s Experience of Support on The New You Plan

The support from other slimmers on the secret slimmers page is priceless, this was an ingenious creation. Hats off to whoever thought of it because if it weren’t for this page I don’t think many of us would stay on track so easily. It is so easy to be swayed by real life commitments and situations but a quick check in to voice your struggles and a tonne of slimmers are there waiting to hoosh you back up into that saddle. I have made some great friends through the page and will continue to follow their progress and keep in touch. As for the New You team, by far one of the most if not the most professional, friendly, involved company I have ever come across, they have always been a mouse click away to answer any queries, they really keep customers involved and enthusiastic by involving us in their team.

What advice Victoria would give to anyone who is just starting the plan:

Keep a diary, list the reasons you are doing this, note your weight and BMI and note what your goal is. Write down mini goals, for example in two weeks I will get a manicure if I ,lose X amount of weight. I found mini goals great. Also, you will find your mind plays tricks on you and you nearly fight with yourself to stay on plan, DO NOT give in to the little voice that is encouraging you to have a little nibble, you will be devastated you broke the plan and have to wait for ketosis to kick in again, this plan really highlights your strengths and weaknesses, prove to yourself that you are in control and be in it to win it .. New body is waiting for you 🙂

How Victoria stays on track

I’ve had my ups and downs and caved many times which did upset me because I know I can do it I’ve just been weak at times which meant I was on plan longer than I needed to be. Steer clear of food shopping trips on an empty stomach, don’t feel sorry you’re not eating treats with your family ..after all didn’t you have plenty of treats and have the weight to show from it? Keep reminding yourself why you’re doing this, remove yourself from tempting situations until the moment has passed, hot baths, early nights, extra housework or take up a hobby. Keep your mind busy and you will be fine. Boredom is the danger zone. Secret slimmers page is where to be when you struggle, you can ask for tips on recipes to change up your packs, this gets everyone involved in trying new tricks to jazz things up..we post pictures too so that everyone can get a visual of the recipe.

Victoria’s Menu Plan for the Day:

Water has never been a problem for me, I always drank about 1.5-2 litres a day, on plan I would drink 5-6 depending on how early my day began and how active I was. I stuck mainly to shakes, porridge and bars as the meals weren’t for me. Two black coffees before I began work then I would have a heavenly hazelnut shake for breakfast with a dash of coffee around 12pm, a banana shake or porridge for lunch, strawberry or chocolate shake late afternoon/early evening and a bar with a cuppa later in the day. I keep sipping water and usually would have the first two litres drank by 12pm. The water flavourings are gorgeous if you want to change it up a bit. Nice as a treat but a lot of people use them with all their water.

Victoria’s Time on Refeed:

I followed the New You refeed guide (this time) over a two week period as I got a tad carried away on my two week break from plan, I have to follow a strict plan for anything otherwise I go a tad mad 🙂 I stayed with the secret slimmers page whilst on maintenance as I enjoyed chatting with friends and keeping an eye on their progress 😉

Victoria’s Exercise plan on the diet:

I did exercise midway through the plan, I went jogging 4 days a week for about a month but I found I didn’t have the time to keep it up with my work hours. Now that I’m at my goal weight I have invested in a set of kettle bells and plan on toning up with them

Victoria’s Favorite Products:

My favourite products are heavenly hazelnut shake, chocolate shake, banana shake, strawberry shake, porridge, muesli bar, cookie & cream bar and the chocolate balls and wafer snacks

Victoria’s advice for anyone who is thinking of joining the plan or is putting off getting started?

The longer you put it off the more weight you will gain, the more unhappy you will become .. Break the cycle now, start the plan, be strong and focused and before you know it you will be at goal weight, delighted and so proud of your achievement.

Do it for you .. Become a new, happier version of you .. good Luck Xx
