What to drink on a Total Food Replacement Diet| Ketosis

Today:

Lorna and Suzanne talk about what to drink on a Total Food Replacement Diet

Just how much water should you Drink in a day on a VLCD:

We recommend  between 2-4 litres of water spread through the day, the reason being is that it can be dangerous to drink too much water at once. Water is vital as a hydrated body is a healthy body that is performing at its best. Julie Ann always tells me to think of water as this amazing fat burning liquid! 🙂

Other the other side of this, if you do not drink enough you may become dehydrated and this could lead to headaches, dizziness, issues with blood pressure and constipation. As with most things the amount each person needs is different so this is a guide so aim for 2.5 litres or a little more if you can!

If you are struggling with your water intake, many of our customers rave about just how much our water flavourings help them to hit their daily water target! I have included a link below that will take you directly to the page where you can add these to your box before placing your order, just click on the image!

What else can you drink on our VLCD plan:

In addition to tap water and bottled still water, you can also have sparkling water which goes great with the water flavourings above. However you would need to avoid flavoured sparkling water or indeed any other flavoured water. It goes as far as No Slice of lemon in your water as this can in fact have an impact on ketosis.

In relation to Teas and Coffees, these are included in the water allowance. Teas can be black, white, or green leaf but not from flowers or fruit as again this can have an impact on ketosis. With regards to milk – it is advised to avoid drinking milk with your tea and coffee, however if you want to have the occasional cup of tea or coffee with milk use skimmed milk only and never exceed 250mls per day. We do say that black is best for Ketosis.

Artificial Sweeteners in tablet form are allowed in teas and coffees. Do NOT use the powder form of sweetener.
