When you are feeling overwhelmed with your weight, the thought of starting a diet can feel as daunting as the prospect of having to climb a massive mountain.  It can just feel so overwhelming.  Like standing at the very bottom of a mountain, and feeling you have to climb it all alone.

And that can be a hard pill to swallow and increase feeling overwhelmed with your weight.

Climbing a mountain can be fun.  Lots of people LOVE climbing mountains, it is a challenge that gives you a sense of achievement.  When you take part in a challenge that makes you dig deep inside you, and you are surrounded by people who are going through the same experience, it can be a really amazing journey.  Sharing your journey with people, makes it better on every level and increases your chances of success.

When you feel like you can’t go on, you will get inspired by other people’s progress, and take one more step.  When you feel low, people will be there to listen and encourage you, and tell you what you need to hear to make you find the strength to keep going.  You will realise that you are not alone,  feeling overwhelmed with your weight, and that there are people just like you who feel the same way.

When you are going well and other people are finding it tough, you can offer them help, advice and encouragement, and that can make you feel strengthened even more, because you realise how far you have come, and you feel empowered that you can help someone else now.

Day by day, step by step, you will get to your goal.  The journey will become enjoyable, the company will keep you going, the vision of getting to your mountain top, and achieving your goal, will get closer and closer.

When you get to the top of your mountain top, you will feel amazing, you will feel so proud of your achievement, and look back on your journey and smile.

Don’t ever think that you have left it too late to get started.  Don’t think that you will go it alone.  Stop holding yourself back and start taking action no matter how small to get you closer to living life at your healthy weight.
