The Ins and Outs of New You!!!
Are you confused a little on what products you should take?, when you should take the products? or simply you want to know the Ins and Outs of New You?! Today is your Day!!!!
Todays blog is a start to finish guide on how The New You works.
First and foremost we are going to cover what the products are and how they are meant to be used to best effect.
We covered this in some detail on Tuesday and the feedback we had was fantastic.
Just in case some of you missed this we have provided the link for this blog below:

Here we explained what TFR, VLCD and Snacks are all about and elaborated on the fact that we all need to have at least four of the TFR products a day.
Water Flavourings
One point that we feel needed to be covered in a little more depth however was the water flavourings and how these work.
The water flavourings are considered part of you water allowance -not your New You food allowance, this means you can have as much of this on top of your four items per day as you want.
New You Snacks
We also covered how and why the snacks are to be used – as an occasional treat or on days when you are particularly active. For a break down of our snacks have a look here. The Snacks are there for the odd occasion when you have an additional treat and are handy for people who a refeeding and use them as a healthy snack as part of a balanced diet.
TFR Products/Meals
TFR stands for Total Food Replacement and if you have the recommended four items per day you will be getting 100% of your recommended daily allowance of minerals and vitamins, as well as ensuring you have a healthy balance of carbs, fats and protein. Menu Plan
This leads onto the next area of interest which is – what products should I be ordering/eating in a day. We have drawn up a few simple menu plans here and these can be found
in the video and are also given below. One top tip from us is that you should not have more than one bar per day, this is down to the manufacturers recommendations.
The menu plans are listed below.
Menu 1 – Breakfast – Vanilla Shake Afternoon snack– Cream Cookie bar Lunch- Tomato Soup Evening meal– Cottage pie Additional – Try take between 3-4litres of water per day, you can have black tea and coffee and unlimited amounts of water flavouring 🙂
Menu 2 – Breakfast-Strawberry Shake Lunch-Tomato Soup Evening meal– Pasta Carbonara Supper -Banana Shake Additional – Try take between 3-4litres of water per day, you can have black tea and coffee and unlimited amounts of water flavouring 🙂 I have also added a wafer today as an additional snack!
Menu 3 –Breakfast– Chocolate shake Afternoon snack – Hazelnut bar Tea– Mexican Chilli Supper– Porridge Additional – Try take between 3-4litres of water per day, you can have black tea and coffee and unlimited amounts of water flavouring 🙂
I hope these three menu plans laid out have helped you…. basically we want to make sure that you take 4 TFR products per day, 3-4 litres of water a day is also quite necessary, the water flavourings you can have as much as you would like and the snacks are only an additional snack if you are feeling extra hungry or quite active.
Finally to conclude we have taken some of the questions from the blogs and Secret Slimmers and answered these for you, as with the menu plans these are both in the video and the blog below:
1) As was discussed on Tuesday the question most frequently asked is the difference between TFR and VLCD. The answer to this is VLCD stands for very low calorie diet
and all of our products are suitable for a very low calorie diet. TFR on the other hand stands for total food replacement which means that the selected item will give
you 100% of your RDA’s of minerals and vitamins if you have the recommended number of items and as before they are also blended to ensure you get the correct balance of
carbohydates, fats and proteins.
2) Another common question as highlighted above is what are snacks and how are they to be used. Snacks are not part of the TFR range which means that they are not nutritionally complete however due to the fact that they are low in calories they make a good treat on days where you a physically active, having a hard time sticking to the diet or are going onto refeed.
3) The next hot topic is what is the difference between the old and the new products. The only really notable difference in the products is the flavour. If you are used to our old range of products and are considering making a switch to the new ones we would for the above named reason suggest ordering a small quantity of these items just to get an idea ofthe taste difference.
4) The next question would come from our new customers which is quite simply what should I be taking in a day. As before the answer to this is four TFR products and reall y importantly is the water allowance of 2-4l of water a day.
Teas and Coffees are included in the water allowance. Teas can be black, white, or green leaf but not from flowers or fruit.
Milk – it is advised to avoid drinking milk with your tea and coffee, however if you want to have the occasional cup of tea or coffee with milk use skimmed milk only and never exceed 250mls per day.
Black is best for Ketosis. Artificial Sweeteners in tablet form are allowed in teas and coffees. Do NOT use the powder form of sweetener.
We also get asked fairly regularly about fizzy diet drinks and although some of them will not affect your ketosis we still suggest avoiding them. We also recommend no alcohol is to be consumed while on the plan.
5) The final topic we wanted to cover is the question of how many calories a day would I have with four products per day. The simplest answer to this is that any four of our products will come in under the 800 calories a day recommended for a VLCD. If you need the exact information then please click on the information tab of the Product that you wish to have information for.
