Rebecca’s 8st 4lbs* Transformation: How She Turned Resilience Into a Whole New Life

When Rebecca joined The New You Plan in May, she was exhausted, unwell, and completely overwhelmed by years of putting everyone else first. Today, she’s 8st 4lbs* lighter, full of energy, and the proud winner of our £1000 ‘Best Resilience Transformation’ Award in the Sept/Oct Challenge. Her journey is one of courage, grit, and choosing herself again after one of the hardest years of her life.
In this powerful interview with Community Manager Rachael, Rebecca shares how she rebuilt her health, her confidence and her life, one habit at a time.
Here is her story…
Getting Started: “It was time to do something for me.”
Rachael: Congratulations on your win! Where were you when you found out?
Rebecca: I was actually putting my Christmas tree up! I’ve had a rough few months, and I was just trying to bring a bit of happiness into the house. Then the email came in and… well, it certainly brought me happiness.

Rachael: When did you join New You and how much have you lost?
Rebecca: I started on 6th May this year. Before that, I suffered with severe IBS, which presented itself as constant bloating, I was being sick twice a week and felt full all the time. No matter what I ate, I felt ill. After seeing transformations on Facebook, I thought, If other people can do it, I can too. I wanted to give my stomach a rest and finally do something for myself.
I weighed 15st 7.5lbs when I started… and I’ve now lost 8st 4.5lbs.

Rachael: That’s incredible. And how has your IBS been since starting the plan?
Rebecca: Gone. Honestly, it feels like I never even had IBS. No sickness, no bloating. I feel fantastic.
Rachael: You also mentioned being prediabetic?
Rebecca: Yes. It runs in my family and my husband had just been diagnosed too. It really scared me. With two disabled daughters who need me, I knew I had to do something. I had to be selfish for once and put myself first.
Choosing New You: Structure, Simplicity & Hope

Rachael: What made you choose The New You Plan?
Rebecca: The structure. Portion sizes were my downfall before – I had no control. With New You, the packs are already portioned, and that really appealed to me. Just have 4 packs a day and you can’t go wrong. The transformations drew me in, but the simplicity and portion control sealed the deal.
Rachael: And with such a busy life, has the ease of the packs helped?
Rebecca: Massively. I’m always on the go with my daughters. I can grab a Bar or Shake, and I always keep a shaker with cold water in the fridge so I can have a Shake ready in seconds. My husband laughs at how much water I drink, but it’s definitely key on this plan. I’ve learned that most of the time, you’re not hungry, you’re just thirsty.
Rachael: How did you find drinking water? Did the water flavourings help?
Rebecca: Absolutely. I don’t like plain water, so they were a game-changer. I drink these throughout the day.
The First Week & Building Habits

Rachael: Tell me about your first week on plan.
Rebecca: I lost 8lbs in my first week. I actually didn’t find it hard because I had my head set on making it through the first week. My strategy was to stay as distracted as busy. I decided to keep myself busy decorating the house (though my husband wasn’t thrilled about being roped in!). The Pineapple Fat Burners gave me loads of energy. I didn’t think about life before the plan or miss food; I was just focused on getting through that week. I knew that if I made it to the end of it, I could go all the way.
Rachael: What helped you stay organised?
Rebecca: I liked to be as prepared as possible. The night before, I’d set out my 4 packs for the following day so I didn’t have to make any decisions. Motivation got me started on the plan but habit kept me going.
Rachael: How are you finding your maintenance journey? Are you following Switch?
Rebecca: Yes! I’ve been maintaining for 4 weeks now. I go between Switch days and Total days, depending on life with the girls. This has helped me keep the weight off.
Life-Changing Health, Confidence & Energy

Rachael: How has life changed for you now?
Rebecca: I’ve got so much more energy. I can easily run after my girls, whereas before, I’d be out of breath. Now I do over 10,000 steps a day. My husband calls me a Duracell bunny because I have so much energy.
Rachael: And how are you feeling emotionally?
Rebecca: It’s been a very tough few months. My sister died unexpectedly, and I could’ve easily gone back to emotional eating. But I leaned on the community instead of food. Secret Slimmers got me through. The support on there has been better than some of the support I’ve had in real life and I’m so incredibly thankful to them.

Rachael: That’s incredibly powerful.
Rebecca: I didn’t want to throw away all my hard work. My sister would’ve been so proud of me for staying on track. The community kept me going when I couldn’t lift myself up.
Community, Confidence & Entering the Challenge
Rachael: How have you found the New You community?
Rebecca: Unlike anything I’ve ever known. No malice. No judgement. Just support. Whether you’ve had a good day or a bad day, they’re there to support you.
Rachael: Why did you enter the Transformation Challenge?
Rebecca: My husband made me! He said I never have confidence in myself. I typed it all out, but he was the one who pressed send because even then, I couldn’t bring myself to submit it. And then… I won. I still can’t believe it.
Rachael: Are you entering the yearly £10K challenge?
Rebecca: I am, although he’ll probably have to press send again!
Favourites, Wins & What’s Next

Rachael: Which New You products can’t you live without?!
Rebecca: The Toffee Bar (I cannot go a day without it!), the Banoffee Shake, Pasta Carbonara and the Bolognese Pots. I love variety, and the fact that there are always new products being added. It keeps things exciting.
Rachael: How does it feel to go from a size 22 to a size 12?
Rebecca: Amazing. I’ve already bought my Christmas outfit. Just being able to shop in a normal high-street shop means everything.

Rebecca’s Advice: “Let it become your new habit.”
Rachael: What would you say to someone thinking of starting?
Rebecca:
- Mindset is everything.
- Be selfish.
- Let this become your new habit.
- Take pictures and measurements! Sometimes the scales don’t show the whole story. I’ve lost over two feet in measurements!
- Drink plenty of water.
- And don’t wait for tomorrow. Start today.
- Finally, you’re not alone. The support is unbelievable.
Rachael: Describe your journey in 1 – 3 words.
Rebecca: Habit. This is my new habit… and I don’t ever want it to end. I feel amazing. On top of the world.
