Def true in my case. 12lbs in first three weeks 4 th weigh in tomorrow so compared to some here it feels slow. But I am enjoying the non scales victories. Clothes are fitting better and stuff I bought that was too small so never wore fits already so feeling good. Caught hubbie staring at me the other night and when I asked what was wrong he said I just look so good now not just the weight but every way he said I’m glowing with energy!!!
NON SCALE victories are amazing and there is soooo many of them 🙂 xxx
That’s totally my journey so far. Unlike some I haven’t had the big 10-14lb in a week losses ever, from memory my first 7 days was my biggest loss at 7lbs. But I’ve lost every single week, some weeks more than others but occasionally only a couple of pounds. I haven’t let this deter me as I know a loss is a loss. Even if I’d have stayed the same I wouldn’t have put on so that’s all good. Despite this I have managed to lose just over 2 stone in my first 8 weeks. I’ve also been out once a week with my hubby for a meal (something we have always done) but only have green salad and lean protein so as to stay in ketosis. The finish line is a way off for me but this isn’t a race, there are no prizes for getting there first. Getting there is my focus, crossing that finish line wether it be sooner or later I will do this.
You are SMASHING IT 🙂 woohoo xoxox
Thats exactly how I feel on day 4, week 1. I`m taking it easy these last few days waiting for ketosis to kick in. I know its going to be worth it at the end of August! Its the easiest diet ever! The food is great! I was telling my chemist yesterday how easy it is, and the reward at the end. I cant believe how convincing I was, 3 customers in the shop came to listen and was very interested in what I had to say. WhooWhoo! xx
Love it 🙂 woohoo xoxox
Weight loss isn’t something that can be done overnight… It is a journey… To travel anywhere safely and effectively you should take your time and plan your route… It’s the same for weight loss… Be dedicated, focus on your end goal and enjoy the ride!!
Very true 🙂 Dedication is sooooo important 🙂 xx
This quote supports my attitude that if you are not in, you cannot win. I find it easier to consider small losses at the time as it is less disappointing than expecting a big loss and it doesn’t happen. Small steps and losses lead to a bigger loss and better journey at the end of the day.
NO IN CANNOT WIN!! So true 🙂 love this xox
You don’t have to go fast, you just have to go! This reminds me of the The Tortoise and the Hare story 🙂 Moral being, slow and steady wins the race!
I am only a week and a half in to the program but have found the support amazing so far, that goes a long way to sticking with something. And it’s working 10 pounds down in the first week! Weighing myself later to add to the July Challenge. Looking forward to smashing it in August.
Slow and steady wins the race 🙂 LOVE THIS 🙂 xxxx
You are only in competition with yourself…no one else! Never compare your losses with others!
One step at a time…but taking that first step is the most important 🙂
Time passes anyway, it’s up to you have you spend it!
Comparing is defo the wrong thing to do! soooo true xox
You don’t have to go fast you just have to go,,,,,,steady,,remember the Hare and the tortoise,,dont give up you will get there in the end and win !!!
Love it Jilly 🙂 xxx
Every lb down is a step in the right direction and every day working towards your goal brings it closer.
There will always be ups and downs along the way, that is life, just never give up and you’ll get to where you want to be.
WOOHOO!!! soooooo true 🙂 xxx
i can relate to this well , to me it took me a while to realise that i wasnt going to lose the weight overnight – it didnt go on overnight !!
its all about taking that first step in the journey and having the mindset and motivation to stick with it during the tough days , acknowledge that there will be tough days .
getting my head ready was more important than anything else and once it was then i knew i had to start with the knowledge that this time i WAS going to finally complete my journey no matter how long it took .xx
We will believe you will! woohoo!! you are doing sooooo well xox
For me, I think sometimes hearing other people lose massive amounts of weight at a time when I am only losing maybe 4 lbs or less a time can sometimes be disheartening. But the important thing is its going! Rome wasn’t built in a day!
It defo wasn’t! You will succeed! you are succeeding 🙂 🙂 🙂
1st day today back on the new you plan after many failed attempts. its an easy plan to follow but sometimes life just gets in the way!! now iv got control over my demons i.e stress im making this my time to be the new me..no matter wat happens ill be staying in control over my new journey..i know i dont have to go fast..its not a race..i just need to keep going 🙂
You will do it Linzi 🙂 Good Luck xoxox
I think, for me, this quote reminds me that no matter how small the loses are progress is still progress and that being on the journey and giving it your best is still a massive step from where I was before I started and was eating junk daily! Sometimes it’s about acknowledging the small and big wins.
I’ve tried loads and loads of different diets – weight watchers, slimming world, slimfast, atkins, south beach, juicing….you name it and the thing that I feel really sets me apart on this journey is the support and encouragement that were all being given is really great! I think the nice thing about this plan and something that I feel Is reflected in the quote is way that we are encouraged to make our own goals and supported no matter how fast or slow we lose weight. It’s nice to know that even when you’re having a crap day and blipping the girls over on the Facebook page and don’t judge you for straying but instead encourage you to keep going cause at the end of the day it’s about being on the journey, not how fast you get there!
Thank you for sharing Laura 🙂 I loved your take on this quote xx
As long as you keep plodding along, even when times are tough and you can’t quite get your head in the right place you’ll get there in the end… 🙂 x
Very true 🙂 XOXOX
Today. Right now. If it’s the middle of the night when you’re reading this, then you can wait until tomorrow. But remember that the sooner you start, the sooner you are losing weight and feeling better physically and emotionally.
Getting into better shape by losing weight is something you will never regret. Even if you never need to be more fit, you still get all the health and well-being benefits from doing it. Your body and those who love you will thank you!
Love it Catherine 🙂 Thank you for sharing xox
This relates well in my case, at first I lost well and as the weeks went on it was slow and to be honest I was a little disappointed but realised it was at least going, from then on I enjoyed watching it slowly but surely disappear and I still reached my stone goal, slowly slowly catchy monkey lol or slowly slowly loosey weighty 😉 I didn’t put the weight on over night so I shouldn’t expect to loose it overnight, a loss is a loss and for anyone who sid I ONLY lost a 1ilb or 2, that’s a huge amount if u could see how much 1lb of fat looks like you would be like..wow! ive lost all that?
YES YOU HAVE!!!! AMAZING 🙂 WOOHOO xox
Just getting going was the difficult part for me. But while trying to get myself in the right frame of mind to lose weight I have learned a lot about myself. I may not have got here fast but I’m now on the go & that’s the important bit because I feel so much better now x
Just taking that step even small steps will make you feel good about it 🙂 well done xox
i can relate to this because after the inital big loss i only lost 2 lb this week yet i know im in this for the longhaul and 2lb gone is so much better than 2lb on!
Exactly…. 2lbs is gone and all those weigh ins will add up! You can do this xox
For me the saying “You don’t have to go fast, you just have to go” means that as long as I am going in the right direction with my New You journey, it will take as long as it takes, lifestyle changes and the choices I make take time to establish. I may have been on this journey a while but I am nearing my goal, so that’s what counts!
Yes it will … take your time and you will still see all of the benefits 🙂 xox
Making the decision to do this diet has really paid off for me. I sat on the fence for too long. Now that I am on the ‘go’, I don’t want to stop!!! I don’t mind how long it takes – because it is working xx
WOOHOO!!! well done Louise… taking that step and not wanting to let go you are winning 🙂 xox
That’s sooooooo me and my new you journey…its like a pair of fabulous heels it takes bravery to put them on you could just hide them in a handbag and put them on when you get somewhere ( we’ve all done it oh I’m 100% today as you are truthfully scanning the fridge or cupboard. ..oh sorry that’s just me today ) or you suck in the belly shoulders back and you walk in those 5 inchers. ..granted you may (or maybe this is also just me!!)walk slowly and like a baby giraffe but you don’t have to go fast you just have to go xxxxxxx
Love this Sarah 🙂 You just have to go 🙂 🙂 xxx
