Charity I nominate is cystic fibrosis Ireland. I’ve signed up to do mini marathon and this is my chosen charity for a friend whose son has CF.

Thanks and hope I won as would get my fundraising off to a great start. Just got my pack yesterday including t-shirt. Will do #selfieSaturday before my Park run. Hopefully beat last week’s time!

I would donate the money to cancer research. Over the last few years I have been affected by so many awful losses to this terrible disease and as we well know 2016 has had a horrible amount of losses to cancer in the celebrity world. Cancer does not judge you on age, race or wealth, it is evil and I want to help stamp it out. I have done a lot for charity in my adult years but nothing that has involved exercise. This January I started New You and later that month I signed up for a pretty muddy 5k event for cancer research and now have a big team doing it with me. Together we can kick cancers butt! Xxx

If I was to win I would love the £100 to go to a charity called Special Hands Activity Group. They are a small charity but they make a huge difference in the lives of families who live with disabilities. When my daughter was born 9 years ago it was very clear from the start that she has Down Syndrome. We were sent home from hospital with a bleak look at the future and some hand outs and words that were all muddled up. Not only had we just had our first child and like all new parents didn’t have a clue but we also had, what we taught, was the daunting diagnosis of DS to deal with. Then one day a lady knocked on my door, shoved flowers in my face and asked to see Sorcha. This lady was the founder of Special hands and she has been a saviour in so many ways over the last 9 years. Help, advice & support is never far away. Because of Special Hands there is now a disabled changing facility and extension going onto our local pool, the new playground will have equipment for children of all abilities. There are classes & groups my girl can go to with HER friends. She has become an amazing swimmer because of this group, she gets to go to fantastic places and do things I never dreamed possible because of this group and above all my girls future is full of hope and light and opportunity because of Special Hands.

      1. Parkinson’s Herefordshire.

      2. On 2nd January 2016, I lost my dear Dad to Parkinson’s – he had suffered this dreadful illness for 26yrs, he was diagnosed at 50yrs old – the age I am now. While my Dad was dying I promised him I would sort myself out, get back in shape & lose weight. My Dad was always telling me to slow down and take time for myself.

I got myself into a real hole after Dad died, but my promise to him was always at the back of my mind. At the end of January I re-joined NEW YOU and Joined a running club, that starts you on a 0 – 5k programme. Well the rest is now history, here I am 2 stone lighter all down to New You and the wonderful support from the SS group. I madly signed up to run a 10k for a local hospice, have trained for 12 weeks and now have £500 in sponsorship for them. Sunday 8th May I do this run with a wonderful friend who with me has now joined NEW YOU having seen my fantastic results. I FEEL like a NEW PERSON, mentally & physically. Thank You, Thank You!!!!
I would love to donate to Parkinson’s Herefordshire as we had the most wonderful care and support from this group for my wonderful Dad who is my inspiration and I know he would be truly proud of where I am today.

      Newry hospice is my charity.

4 years ago when my sister was dying of cancer that’s were she went to spend her last few weeks, the staff there are amazing and the care and support they gave to both my sister in her last days and to my family during and after she passed was out of this world, they became like family and when she passed they all cried with us, how they do that job every day is beyond me, they are amazing,

SANDS because the support that they give is invaluable. It would be hard to list all the good work that they do. Personally for me I have benefited from their special room on the labour ward at my local hospital at a time when my world fell apart and from the safe and supportive place I find through their chat room.

If I won I’d like to donate to Willowbrook Hospice. They offer care & support for adults with life-limiting illnesses in the St Helens & Knowsley area, providing Hospice Care. Having had many family & friends suffered with Cancer, some who have lost their battle to it they are a great charity who my Dad’s business work very closely with 🙂

The Registered charity i would absolutely love to get this donation is Feileacain which is the Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Association of Ireland. this group is so close to my heart as they are bereaved parents themselves who set up this organisation to support other families who are affected by the death of a baby either during pregnancy or shortly after. last april 2015 my gorgeous twin boys were born at 37 weeks, unfortunately Evan was stillborn but his brother Ethan has just turned 1 and is doing great. they provide so much support, counselling and basically just do priceless work during such a dreadful time that a family has to go through. they provide cuddle cots which are cooling moses baskets that allows families to keep their baby with them in hospital and at home while awaiting burial. these cots cost nearly 3000euro and myself and some friends have recently finished fundraising to purchase one of these in Evans memory. they are not state funded and so rely on donations, hoping they may be successful in your generous competition, but no matter what charity does win best of luck xxx

      1. Cancer Research (colon cancer if possible).

      2. My lovely brother Emmett died from colon cancer 2 years ago at only 54, 1 year younger than me. He was diagnosed and gone in 6 months. I still can’t believe he is gone from us.♡

I want this sneaky and evil disease annihilated ASAP. Thank you.♡
