Is Milk Slowing Down Your Weight Loss?

milknoWe get asked a lot… “Can I have milk in my tea and coffee?”

The answer is Yes, we recommend you have no more than 250ml of skimmed milk a day.

However if you really want to lose weight fast, then we recommend that you cut out milk completely.

For some people having no milk would mean that they would just throw the towel, and if that is you, then I can give you encouragement because I know many many people who have lost weight fast by following our plan and having milk.  So hopefully you are one of those people that having 250mls of milk has no impact on.

If you are like me however, I have found that milk does slow me down.  I really notice the difference in the weeks that I have no milk, to the weeks that I have a little bit of milk (because I deserve it – queue the bad wolf!)

For some people milk can slow down weight loss.  If you weight loss is not as fast as you would like it to be, then maybe you can try cutting it out and seeing what difference that makes to you.

w-c-fields-comedian-quote-never-cry-over-spilt-milk-because-it-mayIf you like to drink hot drinks, and your normal hot drink is tea or coffee with milk; then it is important that you find some new favourites; this will help you to stay on the plan, keep hydrated and to lose weight fast!  I do not want you to give up on your dreams because a splash of milk is slowing you down!! 

So as the famous quote says, “Do not cry over split milk!” 

Take a positive approach to finding alternatives and do this with a positive mindset!  I am sure with the right attitude and the willingness to try other hot drinks you will soon be happy with your new routine!  Here are some of my favourite hot drinks that keep me on track with the plan.

14 Tasty Hot Drinks without milk that are suitable for ketosis and fast weight loss!

  1. Hot Pineapple Fat Burner – I LOVE a hot pineapple fat burner first thing in the morning.  It is so tasty and it really boosts my energy and makes me have a super productive morning.  When you start the day on a positive foot, it usually means you have a positive day.  To make a hot pineapple fat burner I simply put the powder contents of one of our sachets into a cup and add hot water.  Try it and see how good it is!  I recommend not having any pineapple fat burners after 4pm as they are so good they can make it hard to get to sleep if you have them in the evening!  Take up to 3 a day and watch your energy levels increase and boost your metabolism!  You can get 40% off pineapple fat burners with our 4 week meal bundle.

White Tea – I have not met anyone who has had a white tea who has not liked it.  This tea is not white in colour, it is black, but it has a different flavour and it is suitable for ketosis.  I personally cannot drink an ordinary black tea, but a white tea is lovely.  Next time you are in the supermarket pick up a packet, I think you will be happy when you try it!
  4. Green Tea – Green tea is allowed on the plan, infact all leaf tea is allowed, but anything infused with fruits or berries should be avoided.  So green tea with lemon or any other alternative like that would not be recommended for ketosis.  Go for just the plain green tea.  Green tea is well known for its benefits which according to the NHS website include; Green tea is alleged to boost weight loss, reduce cholesterol, combat cardiovascular disease, and prevent cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.

  6. Peppermint Tea – This is another nice refreshing tea that is suitable for ketosis.

Vanilla Latte – This is one of my favourites.  I love this in the morning.  Here is how I make it… First add the contents of a vanilla shake to to your blender bottle with 1 teaspoon of coffee granules.  Then add cold water and shake up.  Then heat the coffee flavoured vanilla shake either in a cup in the microwave or in a saucepan on the hob!  A gorgeous latte!   8. Hot Chocolate Mocha Shake Latte – You can also use the above with the chocolate shake or with the hazelnut shake.  Or even just have your chocolate shake with hot water and no added coffee!

  13. Black Tea – You can try drinking your tea black.  I know it might not be appealing if you are used to milk and sugar.  You can use tablet sweetners and a spoonful of vanilla shake to see if that creates a hot drink of tea that you like!
